I have never been convicted of a crime, but every time I see this question it makes me wonder. On a lot of applications for differant things it sometimes will ask if you have ever been convicted of a felony, but sometimes it just asks if you have been convicted in the last ten years.

My question is if you were conviced of a crime over 10 years ago but just got out of prison it would make it where technically you could put NO you havent been convicted of a crime in the last ten years. Is that correct or when it asks that question do you have to put YES you have since you are just getting out of prison on that crime

That is a good question, I have thought about it before. In Mississippi the applications say have you been convicted of a crime in the past 7 years? So if you were convicted 10 years ago, but just got out of prison yesterday, technically you haven't been convicted in 7 years.

It would be intresting to find out the legal perspective on that though
