Are you allowed to send a book of stamps to high desert? and if you send a money order, do you HAVE to put an address on it. im in the process of moving and dont want to put an address on it where it will send back after i have moved or before i move into a new place.

Inmates in general population are able to receive books of stamps. You can send 20 stamps at a time. From what I've experienced, all letters need to have a return address including name. A letter was returned to me that did not have my name on it.There is a seperate PO Box for money orders only. They cannot be sent to the inmate. (just mentioning if you didn't know)
Here is the address:
PO BOX 270249
SUSANVILLE, 96127

Everything has to have an address and a name on it. Just put your current address on it, you are putting in a change of address order with the post office, right? It shouldn't come back at all, but it will forward.

Yes, All letters need to have a return address on them or they will be returned. I've had a letter returned because I didn't put an address on it. I also checked with the counselor and the mailroom. If it contains a return address and a name, the letter shouldn't be returned.

lol, i think i might just be SUPER slow, but i have to get this clarified. if i sent a letter out to him, with NO money order and i dont put a return address, it still gets delivered to him, right? just ordinary letters that i write to him, and i dont want to put a return address just for a little while, but i dont know if it will still get to him.

Does this mean I have to make a money order out to the prison and not the inmate...sorry, I'm confused.

Let me try to make it clear, this has gotten confusing!
EVERY letter, no matter what the contents must have a return address and in most cases a first and last name on the return address.
Money order are to be made payable to the inmate. Be sure you put his name, CDC number and housing on it. And save the receipt until he tells you he has it.
If you have any more questions, PM me and I'll get it figured out for you, kay???
