An inmate at the medium-security Idaho State Correctional Institute was taken to a Boise hospital Thursday after another prisoner threw scalding water in his face, a corrections official said.
The inmate was attacked around 3:30 p.m. and, though the prison has an infirmary, the victim's injuries were severe enough that he was taken to a hospital, Idaho Department of Corrections spokeswoman Teresa Jones said. It appears the attacker heated the water in a microwave.
Jones did not release the names of the victim or the attacker and did not have the victim's condition Thursday evening.
