Chris, I wish you well and I will be sure to send you a letter. I too, have a close friend who will be sentenced in Federal Court in June and then turning himself in during the month of July. I wish he would come here for some support, but that has yet to happen...

Stay strong and keep your head up!

Chris,

I remember the first time I ever went to prison, & I was really scared. I had learned all I could about what I was headed for, but still the unknown was very unnerving. Believe me when I say, you'll do fine. Thousands of people are let out of prisons & jails every day acoss this country, & 99% of them did their time & had no real problems, so your chances are good that you'll be the same. General rule in prison is keep your eye, & ears open & your mouth shut, till you get a feel for whats going on. It's nothing like the movies, & you'll meet guys, & form friendships. You will meet people you have things in common with believe it or not. There are all kinds of people inside. Keep busy, & my best advise is "DONT MAKE A CALENDER" don't count your days. Your time will go by quicker. It's the mans house, & your just visiting, so treat everyone with respect, & you'll be fine.------Good Luck, & hope you come back to PTO when you get out. You are a good guy, & can be a benifit to our group. -------Ken

Chris,

I didn't get the oppurtunity to meet you, but from what I read you are an OK guy. I pray that God watches over you and that you always know in your heart that that place is not your home. You are just passing through, but it is okay to bloom where you are planted. God bless you and that's a darling picture!

Chris,
You don't know me, but I would like to wish you well. I know that times can get tough, but don't let it get you down. Cintantly remember the happy times you have out here. It will help. Keep your head up. From what I have read, you are a strong person, I know that you can do it. I will send you cards of encouragement from time to time. I know that it will help. It always brightens up my fiance's day when I send them to him. I wish you the best of luck, and you will always be in my prayers. Keep smiling.

I just had a perfectly wicked thought about that Fed facility mailroom officer having a hernia with your mail.
Not that I wish him/her ill... Just that a concerted letter writing campaign being solicited 'round these parts,...it likely to produce exactly that.

You'll just be settling in to your 'low profile' position, and then the PTO postal elves will have done there magic. The mailroom and the neighbors may just wonder who the dickens you must be to have that kind of a following...

Funny. --Enjoy. Keep 'em guessing.

On Chris' behalf...

Thank you all. I know that Chris will feel your kind thoughts and good wishes.

Chris, Sue & I left yesterday morning to report.to FMC Lexington.. We stopped by Chris' Parole Officer for him to sign papers, and then a final brunch .. We drove to FMC Lexington sometime after 1:00, but well before 2:00. We stopped in front of the barbed wire barricaded edifice, and decided this was the place. With our wet eyes shining in the Kentucky sun. we all quickly hugged one another and Chris walked up to the DOOR. ...I called after him: "put some grit in 'ur craw.... and, I'll be here when u get out...)

Chris replied: " O, o...o...K, Dad..."

I was bawling like a baby as we turned onto Leestown Rd. to return home and Sue was weeping too... She looked up with her beautiful tear-filled eyes and said: " It's ok to cry, ...it's good for the soul... ...kinda like laughing.... ...U know what 'Granny said when the kid ate the prune seed...???' "....THIS TOO SHALL PASS....!!! ")"

Kind regards to all, and thank you from Chris...

Hello Dad!

If you hadn't seen this thread... Please give it a look.
I realize that Chris got away from us the day after I posted it.

Do you think he'd be up for helping--in his 'spare' time?

Jim.. wow.. you just brought back a flood of memories that I hadn't thought about in a while now.. My mother, father and girlfriend (at the time) went with me into the reception at the Medium there in Beaumont.. I think walking into a prison (self surrendering) is harder than going in shackles.. You have to do it voluntary.. You also have to see your family and say goodbye. I know just about all of our members here would prefer being able to walk their loved one to the gate.. I am just stating how it felt to have to make that jump on my own and let go.. It's wrenching.
Please drop by here again when you can and keep us updated. Chris is part of the PTO family, as are you, and we would love to stay in touch as much as possible.
Respectfully,
David

Dad,

I want to echo budwoman, Linda and I pray that God holds you, Chris, and his mother close during this time.

Please, know from someone who has been in Chris' shoes that he will survive this and come back to his family. He will do good things and life will go on - soon this time apart will be only a memory.

I will write him a note tomorrow.

God Bless all of you and hold you in his His comforting hands during this time. You are all in our prayers.
