Does anyone else absolutely hate one of the tattoos their man got in prison?
I went to see David today and he showed me the latest tattoo and I Haaaatttteeee it!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a picture of Jesus praying and he has a crown of thorns and barbed wire around the outside. He asked me what I thought, so I told him the truth and he said I hurt his feelings. Instead of leaving his face skin color, the "artist" put all these dots for shading all over the face. Poor Jesus looks like he has a disease or something. I can't believe he's happy with that tattoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wayne's got this awful prison tattoo on his right leg of two butterflies and it says "Butterflies are Free" around it. The butterflies look severely obese and the writing is crooked. The guy who did it had misspelled butterflies and tried to fix it. It's horrible! Wayne said he passed out while having it done and the guy kept right on. When he woke up he wanted to kill the "artist." He had it done years before I ever met him and I asked him why. He said, "Well, the guy said he knew what he was doing." He hates it to the point he won't wear shorts in public and I am one of the very few who has actually seen it. It was a tough lesson, but I don't think he'll get anymore in prison. At least I hope not!

I am lucky i like all the tats that ant has. He since we have talked about them.. He askes me for my opinion and i do the same with him..

that is the one thing I have begged Monty not to do while in TDC!!! He has one tribal band around his right bicept that he got in county a few years back. It is very good! I love that one. But I let him know the statistics and risks of jailhouse tats...I don't think I have to worry about some awful looking tattoo on him now!!

I am lucky that JD has been down for over 8 years now and doesn't have a single jailhouse tat... he has one "homemade" tattoo he had a friend do before he was locked up which I hate... but he has plans on getting that covered and getting a few more tattoos when he gets out... but he is waiting until he can have a professional do them... I guess he has seen some pretty bad tattoos done in there and doesn't want to take the chance.... One less thing for me to worry about....

Stephen has gotten one while he has been in a cross on his arm and then he put my name under the one he had before he went in (which I was very happy with :D ) ..it is not an issue of not liking the actual tatoos with me , I am afraid he is going to come out looking like the tatto dude at the circus!!

I've seen many jailhouse tattoos and it really depends on the artist. many guys will say 'they know what they are doing', while they're not and only looking to make some money. When David comes out, he can get it covered up or fixed by a good tattoo artist. The guy didn't know what he was doing if he just kept on tattooing while his 'client' passed out! that's dangerous!!

David got 2 others from the same guy that I like, they're pretty good considering what they have to work with. I just can't get over what they did to Jesus. I think the artist is going to damned for life for it. LOL

Cliff has a tattoo that says Baby Girl on his chest. He got it done before we ever met. He's getting it changed to Veronica. I think I will like that one! :D

I talked to Steven last night and he told me he was getting a tattoo around his left ring finger. The tattoo will be my name. I didn't know that it would come to this! Doing that really proves his love for me!

Todd & I are getting each others names tattted on our wedding fingers too. I won't let him get it while he's inside tho. I want him to wait until we can get it done in a sterile environment.

Well he did it last night I was speechless. I have a cherry on my neck in the shape of a heart and he wants his name beside it. I don't know if I want to do it I may put it in chinese letters.

HIS NAME WAS PETE- ONE LETTER ON EACH FINGER- I WAS EVEN DUMB ENOUGH TO GET IT DONE ON MY LEFT HAND- YES I EVENTUALLY MARRIED PETE- AND WE HAD A CHILD TOGETHER-BUT 7 YEARS LATER-DIVORCED-I HAD IT LASERED OFF-WHICH WAS VERY PAINFUL AND THE SCARS ARE STILL THERE- I'VE NOW GOTTON RE-MARRIED- BUT EVERYTIME I LOOK AT MY WEDDING RING- I'M REMINDED OF MY EX!!! My tattoo is the chinese symbol for loyalty with his initials under it. He didn't want me to get one, but I just had to. I'm trying to convince him to let me get another one. He REFUSES to let me get it.

I'm very lucky that no one ever tried to refuse me to get a tattoo...but then again, I'm too stuborn to listen to them. If I have something in my head, I'll just do it, if people like it or not.
I thought about putting a name on me too, but now we broke up. The only names I would ever put on my body are the names of my 2 babybrothers.

The Yankee & I really aren't into tattoos, but when I went to see him last week, he said he had a tattoo...sort of. He tans easily and gets extremely dark in the summer. He took off his wedding band, and there was a "tan tattoo" of his ring around his finger. Even when he isn't wearing his ring, like when he lifts weights or has to get up in the middle of the night for count, everyone knows he's married! That's a tattoo I like!! Even when his tan fades in the winter, his tan line is still visible, so this will probably last until he can renew the tan tattoo next summer.

My guy is covered in tatties. He has full sleeves on his arms, two on his chest and his back has a Japanese tattoo with some sort of significance. Japanese fighting fish maybe???
My faves are one he has with Jesus ( not diseased looking..LOL) on the cross with amazing colors of yellow, blue, and mauve surrounding it. The other is a leopards face in a thicket of palms with his deceased sister's name interwoven into the area.Truly beautiful. The ironic thing is he says he would take them all off now if he could. I tease him about them and tell him I have heat in the winter, shade in the summer and "moving pictures" all year round. :)

Billy has 75% of his body in tattoos. He's currently getting both arms sleeved to cover up some bad tattoos. He has my name on the inside of his wrist. He does tats for a living and making great money at it before he was locked up.

I have 3 tattoos. 2 of which Billy did. Those 2 are dedications for my childhood sweetheart that died in a tragic accident and one for my grandma. Billy wants me to get some more, but I think that I have plenty.

i have 9 and i love them i am working on a cover up for one of them.. ant has 6 of them and i love his too..

He says he had alot of them done out of boredom when he was younger. I think they "identify" him and he doesn't care so much for that as he gets older. I love them and encourage him to show them off. He prefers long sleeved shirts until he knows people well. Alot of them are of demonic looking creatures (not my thing at all..lol).
We are both having one more done for each other. His is going to be my name in Celtic lettering and mine will be either the Chinese symbol for love or loyalty....can't quite decide. I want mine on my chest so only he sees it .
He is sending me more pics soon and i will scan some and post the tats for you.

sounds a little like my dad...he has some jailhouse tats and some that he did himself when he was on drugs...always wears longs sleeves. I'm encouraging him to get them covered up, so to get both his arms completely sleeved up :)
demonic characters aren't my thing neither, but I can appreciate them if they are put under the skin nicely, I can pick it out if the tattooist did a good job

I have the symbol for loyalty. Most people think it's a flower until they get up close. It's very pretty. I think prettier than the one for love.

My Billy is FULL of them!! He slings art in prison too. (He's a tattoo artist). He's very clean though, he even did most of his own! I have 3, but they were all done at shops.

Shawn has 5....A big unicorn on his chest, a skull on his abdomen, a rabbit on one leg, and the name of an old girlfriend on his other leg. He says he can't wait to get rid of that one, because she broke his heart over and over again. The fifth one is somewhat personal, so I won't go into detail.

He has been working on a new one for himself...it is a wolf, howling at the moon, with the words "Lobo No More" (Lobo=Lone Wolf) and "Susan 2002" underneath. He sends me pics of the progress from time to time. We also want to have matching Celtic tattoos, and I am still searching ink shops and sites for ideas.

hi... just a comment on the tattoo issue... when my son's father was in prison the time before this... (he did 2 years) he came home with a new tattoo that covered his entire back, shoulder to shoulder, top of the neck down to the bootie crack... and it said "Cadillac" and then below it is the Cadillac symbol.. I almost died, I absoulutely hated it and he thought it was the next picasso... funny memory...

My hunny was a tatto artist before he got locked up...so, he is a busy boy right now :) I am amazed that the guards bring him ink and stuff....but...anyways.... thank god he claims he is Not going to get any "prison ink" while in there.... altough he did tattoo my name on his ankle one day.... I really like that one :)

My baby has serveral tats. And there is one he has that I have to laugh at. It is a female alien with big tatas and once you get down to her lowwer personal area she fades into smoke like a jennie. I laugh so hard when I see that. But he loves it. I wonder what he thinks about when he draws some of his tats. I can not wait though. I have a drawing coming and as soon as it gets here I am running to my artist. :)

While on my visit this past weekend we actually discussed tattos. My son's father wants to get our son's name on his chest and a tribal band around his arm ( he swares he is so buff since he's been working out). I have no tattos but would love to get my son's name around my ankle. I know it will hurt like hell so that is why I have not done it yet. I'm trying to get the courage before summer comes. I forbid my son's father to get any until he comes home as I do not know if it's safe to do so in a prison environment.

Tim got a tattoo when he wuz in jail the 1st tyme....2 yearz ago...itz on hiz right Titty....it sayz R.I.P DAD ....i hate that tattoo!!!!!! cuz u cant hardly sea it...its not dark enough...then its all crooked...who eva did that...didnt no whut they were doin..i thank i can do better!!!

Well---it is so ironic! Danny has several jailhouse tats that he got when he was younger and locked up. He wants to get them removed when he gets out. Kinda like startingover. He is actually a great tattoo artist, and I have 6 that I love!. so when he gets out, he will hopefully get a new start o his tats!

In three pages, I found one mention of the working 'real clean'... and another about the danger of getting one being in passing out and getting an ugly one.
Saw a bit about how choice on the image is critical because it is 'forever' as they say...Of course, it's not.. Lasers help.

I've seen some pretty ink, I've seen more than a few fershit jailhouse tattoos. Not against the principle or the right of anyone to get one or a million... just think it should be put in perspective where the folks getting them are IN and working it out between counts or rounds...

Very good posts ..I have a tribal on my back thats got phat ass lettering that says "Darrenz Baby Forever" and he has the same tribal on the same part of the lower back tha says Jenz Baby Forever ..we got these in the outside when he was actually working as an artist doing that..Now he does give a few in prison but I do know that whatever mechanism he uses is a safe one and needles get sterilized and the ones hes given are very detailed and good quality so hes using something good but keep in mind he works outside the prison as a trustee and gets to bring the real shit in...he is safe and Im a nurse and Ive beat that into his brain about hep c and sterilization..he gets access to the outside world 7 hours basically unattended now and he gets the clean needles and isnt grinding down chess pieces and ashes to do that nasty shit. I also have betty boop on my butt. I am glad some one is speaking out and warning people about these things. Good job and why dont you go to a chat room and shoot the sh*t with me for awhile Im bored to death.Please? I just saw him today in visitation and I love him so much and that feeling after leaving is always draining and emotional .I got yelled at by a sergeant who is an asshole for going in the Mens restroom cause I had to pee and well I didnt care which one I used just to go ,ya know? Well its not the one the inmates use but still this sergeant has it in for me because one time we held hands too long and he made me leave and told me Id never be allowed back in but I complained to the Warden and told him the story and I was back in the next week. So basically he is always mad because I got his bubble bursted by walking in the next week when he was doing intake and he told me I wasnt coming in but I told him the warden said Id be allowed , he called the warden and was shocked to find out I was allowed and I think it hurt is inflated ego..Justice is sweet in small ways at times because he was so hot and just had to get over it. He also looked like an ass in front of inmates because the news of me being let back in probably made him look like shit.You know what I mean?Anyway that sargeant is a ponty nosed weasel with "little man" syndrome and I swear he has beady little hawk eyes that spot my jeep a mile away when I pull up in the parking lot. But Im a nice vengeful ..kill em softly sort of soul and I brought him and the other normal visitatin staff beatifully knitted afgans for Christmas and even gave him a warm "Merry Christmas " in front of everyone so he had to say it back and I know he hates me and I also know he makes sexual comments to me all the time and even had the gall to reach into my cargo pants pockets and take out 2 pills I was gonna have to take while I was in there he tried to get me for trying to bring in drugs but he was also SOL when I showed my RX bottle that made him aware that it was Tegretol and even the specific time I am supposed to take it which happened to be 1 hour into the visitation time and I have to bring it in every time I go because if anyone leaves the visitation area they have to leave the grounds and not reenter .So Im hating him in silence ..welll not hating cuz lifes too short but I wish he would fuc* off and have erectile dysfunction!!! Im bored and rambling so ill go but come to chat..k? Bye

I have 4 tatoos. one is a turtle with a sun above it with RIchie inside (thats my son)on my left upper chest. I have a broken heart held together with a bandage on my right breast, and i have a ying yang on my upper thigh. blue and green. i also made the mistake 6 years ago of getting a big heart on my right shoulder with my exes name in across it.... we were marrying for the second time in ten years and i figured..... well im sure you know what if figured.... now i have made a pact with myself to get it covered by the time my boo gets out and can see it. I have had it looked at and the best i can get is a four hour and $600 dollar estimate to have something else put over it.... il take a picture and post it sometime... maybe someone else can give me a suggestion?

That's pretty bad, but Frank has some weird obsession with all things satanic...the most clean cut all american guy...its strange. Anyway, Ive begged him not to get anything on his forearms, but he ended up getting this skull and some other crazy scary stuff. I saw it and told him when he got out I was going to have to introduce him to Jesus.

I love tattoos, I can't help it. I have 5 of them, my newest one is mike's number across the top of my neck and under it is a heart with (Z) in the heart , which is his last name int. and boy written under that. because when he was home his nick name is Z boy. done in purple is favorite color, he was surprised I got that I told him that's to everlasting friendship and thoughts of him in my everyday life. Just last night my honey told me he was thinking about getting my named tatooed on him. I told him not to do it, then the phone cut us off. So last night I wrote to hime and added that I didn't want him to do it cause I want us to get one together. I didn't want to tell him that I didn't want him to get one and have someone mess him up. I would be so upset! So I asked him to wait until he gets home, I HOPE he listens!

Colt has 43 tat's. He only had 3 when he went in. He has one on his right under fore arm of a skull, but to me it looks like a crazy looking psycho clown, he also has LETS F@$K written across his fingers. The other ones that i have been able to see do look good. The last addition was my middle name Michele under a tat of a naked woman. He also has 2 tear drops under his right eye towards the inner corner. I asked him why on earth he got so many and why he got what he got and he tells me it's just how he feels that day. I started calling him a human doodle pad. I only have 1 ugly home made tat of a wizard on my right calf and I can't wait to get rid of it, but I plan on getting alot of professional ones done.

My husband's got a whole bunch of prison tats. Some of them suck cause the idiot "practiced" on himself!! I like his angels a lot though. What I cannot stand at all are the names on his body that are not mine. He would get em covered up now but he can't find anyone since they transfered him to the min side. Besides so many of his tats are jacked so we'd rather wait until he is out. We are going to get our wedding bands tattooed on the day he gets out. We haven't decided what yet.

On the other hand I am covered in very bright and colorful tats. All of mine are well done. I am working on my left sleeve right now, it is new skool aquatic. I am so addicted it isn't even funny!

Carlos did his own since he's been in...I don't know how he did it to himself but I can't complain since it looks really really nice...not to mention that its my name :D I guess we're really stuck together now since I have his name on my chest and hes got mine on his :) :)
