Yep, a death row inmate can certainly get married, as many of the ladies on here can state, that are very happy.
No, they cant have children while they are in prison, I dont believe that there is any state that has conjugal visits for men on death row. But marriage is a CERTAIN yes :D

I married my husband, who is on Arizona death row, on the 15th of June. So, yes on the marriage. But, as far as I know noone on the row gets to practice making babies. All I would want to do is practice, but the state of Arizona definitely says no.

I do think that it depends on the State and the DOC Policy about getting married. I did it. Good Luck!!

There have been alot of women out here marry Texas DR inmates. One of them will come along and give you some information I'm sure. I do know you have to get married by Proxy. I got married in Texas by Proxy, but we are in Ohio.

Hi!

Thanks for your answer - but what does proxy mean?
I'm not planning on getting married (doesn't even know if he would want me :) ) - just curios.

 I too would like to just "practice" myself, but Texas says no also:no:

"By proxy" means that you go to the court house and get papers, he fills them out and names a 'proxy' or person for him to stand in for him at the actual wedding.

Hi!

Thank you for educating me - it doesn't sound to romantic - but defiantly better than nothing :)
Is the inmate allowed to wear a wedding band if the couple chooses to have them?

No, they can not have a ring. The only way they are allowed is if they were married and had a ring prior to going into the system (and that is straight from the warden's office when I went through it)

Okay thank you - that's a little sad - but obviously it's not the ring that determines if you are married or not - it's in your heart :)

Some of the guys get creative and use other thing (band aids and other things) in place of a ring. It can be very sweet.

If A Inmate Were Married Can They Have A Child

HERE IN CALIFORNIA, THEY CANNOT CONCEIVE A CHILD BECAUSE THEY DONT ALLOW CONJUGAL/TRAILER VISITS, BUT THEY CERTAINLY CAN GET MARRIED.

I'm pretty sure in Texas you can have a ring, but it has to be plain and less than a certain amount. Dont quote me on that, i'm not sure where I heard that.

No in Texas they can't have a ring, unless they came into the system with a ring. If they get married while in prison they will not allow rings.

Hi there, I am new to the site and hope you dont mind if I post a few questions on various threads. I am neither a partner or family member of an incarcerated loved one, but have an interest in criminal justice. May I ask you wives and partners of men on death row how on earth you keep motivated, strong and committed? I admire your strength and your will but I dont think Id have the same amount of courage to marry a man on death row. How do you put yourselves through it?

I hope i havent offended anyone by asking so directly, just seeking knowledge.

cheers cinders

I don't understand at all why they would allow you to get married on death row and then no conjugal visits. Seems like if they wanted to disallow conjugal visits, then they would just not allow the whole marriage thing. It makes no sense to me. If they allow one, they should allow the other.

just out of curiousity as i am married allready (and not to anyone on death row or in prison for that matter) on texas death row if you marry someone do you ever get to touch them, or spend time without the glass between you? And are there any women on here who have never touched their husbands- i found that quite astonishing, true true love!
