Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to be transferred to state prison. MAMMAS 07-24-2005, 10:47 AM sometimes it could take up to three months but nothing over SydneyL 07-24-2005, 11:19 AM After mine was sentenced he was moved to prison about 10 days after his sentencing, I think each county runs their jails differently and who knows it could also depend on the time of year as well. donsmom 07-24-2005, 02:24 PM it took my son about 45 days. BLuft 07-24-2005, 02:56 PM It took my husband about 45 days too. He is sny and they say those guys take a little longer. Cheetoes1 07-24-2005, 03:26 PM It took my son about about 2 weeks to leave MCJ to prison. Keep checking the Sheriff Department's Website and once their status is SP4, they can leave any day. KellyA. kreepsgirl 07-24-2005, 03:52 PM after my fiance was sentenced it took a week or so for him to be moved to the penn. c's baby 07-24-2005, 04:34 PM Men's Central? What county? jeroid's gal 07-24-2005, 04:39 PM It took mine 45 days worried momma 07-24-2005, 09:14 PM it took my son 2days we are in kern county and he went straight to wasco it is just a tiny bit away from county so it was a quick dill kristinam79 07-24-2005, 10:31 PM my hubby wsa at wayside and we went like 13 days after sentencing just log onto www.lasd.org (http://www.lasd.org) and putin his first and last name, then when u see his status as SP4 on the bottom that means hsi paperwork is done and he is waiting for a bus Kevin's Jenn 07-25-2005, 01:51 AM WHat county is he in? Kevin is in Orange County Mens Central and was sentenced on June 2 and is still there. I hope he goes this Tuesday. I can't take any more of the emotional build up for them leaving only to have to do it again the following week and the week after that. For the last three weeks I have cried at our Sunday visits thinking that that would be our last time seeing each other for a few months or taling to each other. I am tired after 3 weeks of this. shelby247 07-25-2005, 02:05 AM My friend is currently at Mens Central Jail. He got sentenced on July 6. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to be transferred to state prison. His disposition code has to be sp4 there is also a website www.lasd.org (http://www.lasd.org) where you can actually type in there name and it will tell you more info. It all depends it could take up to two to three months. he probably will not be able to call when he gets to prison because he will be in reception. There is number you can call it is the state locator they will tell you where they sent him once he is sent to state prison. But sometimes they wont tell you for 7 days. So if you are really anxious she can just call each prison and ask if hes there. My friend was in men's central jail and he was in reception in delano. shelby247 07-25-2005, 02:09 AM WHat county is he in? Make sure to tell kevin as soon as he gets to reception to send you a visiting questionairre (CDC Form 106). In order to see him anywhere else you need to be approved. That can take a month to three months. Just be patient you will be fine. It is really hard but I try not to cry because I kn ow that makes my boyfriend sad. c's baby 07-25-2005, 04:53 PM It took my husband six weeks to go upstate and my son was 7 weeks. They rode the bus to Wasco together. As far as the visiting form, yes get it in soon. However, you can download the form (CDC 106) off the internet. Sometimes you can get his CDC number from inmate locator in Sacramento. Knowing his name and D.O.B. That takes a few days to get into their system. That is how you can expidite getting a visitors application in before he sends it to you. Soon as you have his CDC number, you can mail in the app. Doesn't matter what prison, just so you have that information. You are good to go. Yes the waiting is a nightmare. Going upstate is sooooooooooo much better and easier than county. For both you and the inmate. When he goes to reception, you won't get a call from him (normally) until he is classified. If he has a job, sometime they are given phone privilages. It seem like forever. Good luck and hang in there. :) plpiper 07-28-2005, 02:55 AM Thank You Everyone. This Has Been So Informative!! Tidimae123 07-30-2005, 01:55 AM Hello: My son has been at NorthKern Reception since June 6. He heard from his counselor, but has not seen him/her yet. roy*s_girl 08-03-2005, 03:27 AM It took my boyfriend 8 days to get sent from Placer county jail to the reception2 center in Tracy. They said it would most likely be about 2 weeks but they only go slow when we want them to hurry up! (and visa versa) My friend is currently at Mens Central Jail. He got sentenced on July 6. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to be transferred to state prison. AmuseMe 02-21-2007, 11:30 AM My son was sentenced Jan 31 and the day I have been dreading came yesterday... his SP4 cleared. :( That's about 19 days from sentencing to disposition. Any minute now he'll be on his way to State. God bless him and keep him safe. God bless all of your families too. BOOBSGIRL1990 03-09-2007, 10:22 AM LA County jails whether it be Mens Central, Wayside, Twin Towers oe Century Regional Detention Center (womens fac.) depends alot on how much time they have. Also the inmate should request his transfer be "forthwith" at sentencing. The county has nothing to do with the transferring. Once the CDCR has his /her info which the courts provides it all depends. The state will move / tranfer out or should I say pick up those with longer sentences first. Which is a good thing cuzz the sooner they get started on their sentence the sooner they come home.:D sheeeela 04-15-2007, 10:06 PM Hi there, Can someone tell me what happens to all his stuff that he has at county before he gets moved to reception? Like his books and photos. Does he get to take it with him? HE CAN KEEP HIS MAIL (LETTERS), PICTURES AND COURT PAPER WORK. EVERYTHING ELSE MUST BE SENT HOME OR DESTROYED. YOU SHOULD SEND HIM $$$$$ IMMEDIATELY ONCE YOU FIND OUT HIS HOOK-UP. SO HE CAN GO TO THE STORE AND BY PERSONAL ITEMS. cherylk1 10-01-2007, 10:32 PM HI, Im cheryl, my husband is in the twin towers jail in L.A. he was sentenced to 16 months , and i guess SP , he has 399 days credit for time served already, that is like 13 months..anyway, my question is .. i just saw the code SP4 on his page today..i called and the officer said he was going to be going to SP anytime now..but how long does it take if they are going to do a turnaround? , his lawyer said he may go there and they may just do a turnaround and let him have time served..does it take a long time after he goes to the prison? thanks for any info. cheryl balindax77 10-04-2007, 04:52 PM Replying to c's baby post of "When he goes to reception, you won't get a call from him (normally) until he is classified" - how long does reception last for? cherylk1 10-05-2007, 12:48 AM hi , i posted a few days ago, hoping to get some feedback, maybe i am not doing this right..i am new on this site..and pretty much altogether new to prison and the jail systems ..please can anyone tell me about how long does it take once they are sent to prison , to do a turnaround..my husband is in twin towers in l.a. and he has served 399 days of his 16 months sentence and he may get credit for good time or whatever they call it..the lawyer said he is on SP4 as of Friday last , she said he would probally just go there and do a turnaround...i am confused.. cheryl wendy79 12-19-2007, 12:35 PM So how often is the lasd.org inmate search get updated? And what will it say when he has left his current location? Does anyone know? Thanks :) teajai71 12-19-2007, 12:57 PM So how often is the lasd.org inmate search get updated? My boyfriend status is SP4 so I know he will be transferred at any time, but I dont want to make the trip and know he isn't there on Saturday....do they update it regularly? And what will it say when he has left his current location? Does anyone know? Thanks :) They do update the site pretty regularly. When they send him to reception the site (lasd.org) will tell you where he was sent. My husband called me to tell me when he was about to board the bus, that's how I knew as soon as he left. But the site will let you know as soon as he is moved. myboysmom 12-20-2007, 12:35 AM Wendy, everytime an inmate is moved, the status on the computers change, so that means that if they call him to be moved to SP today, the clerk inputs the infor into the same kind of computer we see on the website, so when he moves his infor will be updated to show release to: (What ever SP he goes to), and the time he was moved, so yes updates are on a regular basis, also, if unsure about Saturday, call the 213 number located on the inmate locator page.....Hope this helps wendy79 12-20-2007, 10:38 PM I can't believe how much there is to learn about this process. Thank you both for your help. I actually checked the site again today and it said CUST REL CAL ST PRI LA CO LANCASTER .... so is this where he will be serving his time? I don't understand what reception is? I guess that's something else I should look up. Should I start writing letters to this location? hmmm or wait? goodness...I'm a mess. i_missyou 12-20-2007, 10:46 PM Yeah i agree with all the replies. Every jail is diferrent because my hubby got transfered to Prison like 6 or 7 months after he get sentenced Luvhurts 01-08-2008, 12:46 PM Hi!!
