 HELP Very Concerned... Spoke with my son yesterday (He is at CLNC) he has cellulitus again in his left arm.A little back ground:when he was in Fl he got it in the same arm and had to be hospitalized for 5 days on heavy duty iv antibiotics they kept it open and draining for that time... he still has a whole in arm where it never filled back in.
and was kept on medication for 2 weeks after being released from the hospital. They had tried oral antibiotics at first but the infection spread very quickly (he also had this in boot camp not as severe) anyway he has it again they put him on 2000 mg keflex started friday night my mom saw him yesterday and said his hand and elbow VERY swallon he called today and said they lanced it and drained it this morning but could not give him anything for pain because the "chief" was not there he is now running a fever. My concern is that he is not getting the treatment he needs this becomes a serious sitituation for him quickly When he had it in FL they were affraid it was getting into his blood stream and he was becoming septic. Do they relize his history with this he needs to be in the hospital getting iv treatment before he loses his arm or worse! Oral antibiotic have not worked in the past he has a history of strep infections.I am going to see him today and don't want to cause a scene...Is there a "right" way to go about this...he says they told him they can not do anything else for him.Any suggestions? THANK YOU AGAIN
