Visiting at Jamestown is no appointment necessary. Make sure there is a visit for him on the day you are going. Different lockdowns keep happening. It a racest thing. Someone different everyother day. The sooner you get there, the faster you get your visit. You usually have to wait at Friends Outside. Nice and clean place. drink and pastries.
Have a great visit.

CCC in Susanville? He should be able to get regular visits as soon as he gets there. My Bro got a visit from us before he even told us he was there! We went to see him at High Desert, found out that he had been moved and went straight there and were able to see him.

denverswife ...

thank you for your reply!!!!!! yes, my boyfriend is now at susanville and I'm really anxious to see him. I miss him so much. This is the second time that they transfer him and each time i've had appts. but I never get to see him because my visits are literally 2-3 days before he gets moved. so, i don't need an appt. then to see him?

I would say no, but it never hurts to call and check. CCC isn't a bad place to visit, watch your clothes, especially any skin showing when you bend over or reach over your head. I've seen them ask people to do both. Make sure he checks in at the desk BEFORE he comes over to you, he can get into trouble if he doesn't. Usually they are pretty cool with the new guys, but why risk it? Also tell him to be shaved and completely dressed. My Bro got sent back to put on an undershirt, and once to shave!!
It's also possible that they will send him to a fire camp...yes, another transfer, so call first!

I've been to visit at CCC a lot, you don't need an appointment just make sure you call the visiting hotline before you head up there to make sure they aren't on lockdown.
