Hi, I just called Diagnostic to see about getting my brother transferred from Brickeys to another unit. A flag was placed on him requesting a transfer after his initial 60 days to go to either Varner or Tucker. Does anyone have experience on these two facilities, could you tell me which is worse or better for inmates? Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I'd choose Tucker. My husband was first at Varner and it's not good. He was there for about 4 months and was transferred to Tucker. He likes Tucker alot better and so do I.

Do inmates get to choose which unit they go to? I thought they just went wherever they were assigned and that's where they have to stay.

My honey is in Tucker, he has been in Varner to, he likes Tucker much better, I have not been to both to visit, just Tucker, but it is not all that bad.
