Does anyone know how much the calls from prison is per call?

I think it would depend upon who your carrier is - Sprint, AT&T, etc......
To get cheaper calls, contact PTO and ask them for details. They will tell you exactly how much your calls will be if you use their service. I use it and have saved LOTS of money with it. Calls that went thru MCI were $20 for 15 min. My calls using PTO are now approx. $5.40 for 15 min.

Doc's sis...I don't know about other parts of the state but where i'm at, only MCI is the carrier available. I tried to find a cheaper way but nothing. Still, $6.60 for 15 minutes isn't too bad. In state calls shouldn't be more than that. Of course the DOC gets a kickback from those phone calls.

It's a shame how much we pay.. compared to other States heres a brief example:

We are so "conditioned" to be thankful to just be able to keep in contact with our loved ones, but in reality this is not a good thing for any of us.

are 2.55 for first minute and 30 cents for each minute there after,

Yes, I realize that MCI controls the prison phones. However, call Richard at PCO (link at top of this page) and talk with him. He can tell you exactly how he can help you get cheaper calls. The prison does not need to know that you use PCO. A 15 min. call that costs over $6 in state seems pretty expensive to me. Doc's calls to me from Ohio to Missouri are about $5.40 for 15 minutes.

I have looked for a link at the top of this page and I know every once in a while there will be one for PCO but it's not there at the moment. Do you know the direct link for PCO? Any help is appreciated. As expensive as my phone bill is, anything will help :)

ADC is exclusive with MCI and a portion of the cost go to the ADC which inflates the telephone charge. Nebraska prisons do not take the "Kick back" and that is one reason their calls are a $1.00 for 15 min. calls. and they are open to other carrirers.

That's our wonderful ADC, isn't it? Another reason to be frustrated with them. I wish there was a way to change that.

Well my calls from my husband are $21.33 for a 15 minute call. (I live in La. and he is in Benton Unit)

Well Holy Crap---finally Someone With The Very Same Opinion As Me. Never In My Life Have I Been So Frustrated As I Have Been For The Last Six Months, With This Damn Phone System And The Inmates. I Live Out Of State, In Tx. The Phone Calls Are Killing Me. Every Time My Son Calls Me Its 15 Dollars For A 15 Min. Call. I Think It Is Terrible That We Cant Send Them Phone Cards. The Whole Prison Is A Load Of Crap If You Ask Me. Its Like Well Lets Think About This. What The Hell Else Can We Take Away From Them. Dont Know What Kind Of Person You Have To Be To Have A Job Like Theirs. And You Are Right They Get Treated Worse Than Animals. It Pisses Me Off Too.

I tried a service when I was cut off from MCI. The way it works is that calls normally are cheaper if they are local even though they are collect. They set up a local number and when a call comes in, they forward it to you. That would make the call cheaper and they just charge a small fee for their service therefore it is cheaper. Now it may be true if you are out of state like Cougar, but MCI and the ADC, in their great wisdom,:blah: have decided to charge the same for in state calls regardless of whether they're local or long distance. They pretty much have us over a barrell if we want to talk to our loved ones. Again though, if you are out of state it wouldn't hurt to talk to one of the phone services.
