My Husband was in the Holiday Unit for 10 days and then transferd to Jefferson County in Beaumont. I have not seen anything about it on here and wondered if anybody had any info on why they sent him to a county jail. He is getting to call and everything. I was prepared to not have phone calls and now he gets to call dont get me wrong I am excited but I thought he could only call 1 every 90 days. Is this normal??? :confused:

When my husband went to TDC the last time, he went to Gurney first, and then they sent him to Gregg County, which is the county jail in Longview, TX. He was there for 3 months. TDC rented space from them because it was so crowded. Its much more crowded now, then it was in 2000 when he went. Thats probablly what happened with your husband.

TDCJ has rented space from Jefferson County because they have no more beds!!!!

But just ask them and they will tell you they aren't overcrowded!

Of course not Val!! But I did read an article the other day and they seem to be admiting it now....
