I have a similar situation. My man has been in prison for 2 months @ Wrightsville,AR unit. My address is ok- he write to me all the time. But recently my # changed- well about a month & a half ago it did. It has taken this long for them to okthe #. I talked to the chaplin and she promised me she would get a message to him to call home. WHEN SHOULD I HOPE/EXPECT TO HEAR FROM HIM? How much does a phone call cost? How much time do you get? DO they go in private rooms? Or is it like county & you can hear other people too? SOmeone let me know asap.

Lonnieschick, I split your post off and made it into its own thread in the Arkansas forum. Hopefully someone with knowledge of that facility will see it now and be able to help you.

I'm not sure when exactly you will hear from him, hopefully soon if he has gotten the chaplain's message - just depends on when she gives him the message. If you don't hear from him soon, I would write him a letter telling him that your number is approved. A phone call lasts for 15 minutes and for in-state costs $6.60 per call, but out of state it could cost up to $20 per call. The phone is in the day room of their barracks with other inmates and not in private rooms - but there is usually so much outside noise that the other inmates cannot hear your phone conversation. Good luck!

Thanks so much
Well, I just found out that is was a mistake- the people in the classification, put the number in his file wrong and so even though I was approved, he still could not call me- that was like forever ago! Well, I called MCI- they said they see no problem the unit has to put the number on his list....PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT IS THE PROBLEM HERE? IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET THE NUMBER APPROVED?!!!
