Hello I need a little bit of help. I am sending mail to someone at SQ and I use my po box as the address on all of my mail. Yesturday I decided to go and get a money order and without thinking on the address I automatically put my home address. Since the two addresses do not match will they still let it go through or will they refuse it? I have never sent money before so I hope that someone can help me out on this.

Welcome to PTO!
I think that as long as you have his name and # on there, he will still get it. Are you worried about him seeing your address? He may not, because usually they don't handle their own money orders. Hope this helps....someone in the Cali forum may be able to help more.

Thank you so much. I am not scared of him knowing my address I am more concerned about the people that will be reading my mail before he gets it. My mother used to work in the county jail back home and she said she seen things no one would believe and that for the most part it is the people who work in the system that you have to worry about. She said it isn't the ones on the inside it's the ones on the outside that will screw you first.

I think I will send it certified that way the prison has to sign for it that way I will atleast know for sure that it did arrive.

As long as you put the inmate's name, and CDC # on the money order they don't care if you write if from timbuktoo. You should have no problem with it getting credited to his books. :p
