didn't have any luck in the prison mail forum...anyone here know how long it takes for a regular ol' letter to get through the mailroom there??

Welcome, try this for info...but for mail ...it takes about 2 days from here to upstate.

thanks, mrs g...i was just wondering if the letters spend extra time than normal in the prison mailroom as opposed to sending letters to a non-prison. i hope that makes sense :)

Hey , If he is in the camp portion of sullivan , then it should take about 2 to 3 days...

wait, if you are writing from FLA, it may take longer, like a week. when my mom writes from FLA it takes about a week. I think they have to inspect it, but that does not take long...

At Sullivan main the guys get their mail the same day that it gets to the mail room.

and usually to the visits-you need to call where he is at and ask-make sure you have his number-they will give you the info-they are usuallypretty nice about it. Also many times in SHU or keeplock they can get books and magazines too. No phone calls, no other packages.

Chain through my recent experience I wrote my honey a letter every single day that he was in lock. Althoug on the weekends they don't get mail at least Mon-Fri he always received a letter to keep him company. And visits like Momma said call to make sure the hours, certain places have evening hours.
