My fiance is at Calipatria and I went to go see him today...Is it just me or did they get like a whole new crew in the visitor processing area? I hadn't been there in like a month or so.... any way they were giving everyone a bad time! Like every other person was sent back for either having an alarm remote attached to their key (I do recall that they let those pass through before) or cause of something that they were wearing. I was one of the unlucky ones that had to go to the trailer to change... I was wearing leggings under my dress...WTF!!!! They wouldnt let an infant go through cause he had denim shorts on!!!! I do recall reading in the visiting rules that they had to be under a certain height and it would be okay... so the poor mom had to throw the babys shorts away!!! They had no problem letting two ladies go through wearing green camo. pants.... I thought that was a no no.... I just wanted to vent... next time I go see my guy I am taking some clothes to donate to the trailer cause the stuff they had was hiddeus!!!! That will be the last time I go down there with out a back up outfit.... With all that said and done we had a wonderful visit

Yea another girl had to change her daughter too... Crazy... they were on one up there i heard...

and what do you mean they made you change your leggings or your dress? I wear leggings with those shirts that are just under your butt and havent had any problems wearing them yet...

Ya, I had black leggings (thats what I had to change) on under my dress actually it could have been a long shirt but my butt was covered and the top wasnt tight or any thing and the new girl made a big deal about it... I've worn them with no problem before... I tend to wear similar clothing cause I know what flys and what doesn't. What is ISU? Sorry, I'm still new to all of this.

ISU is the guys in the green jumpsuits that wear a black shirt under it... Gnoon Squad is what alot of them refer them as...

Yeah this weekend they were being strict. my advice is to make sure you bring extra clothes. But I can't believe they made the baby change too ridiculous.

Last time I went the C.O. almost said something about my keys being they had an attachment on them but then he noticed the keys belonged to a rental so he let me pass so I wonder if the C.O.s were cracking down on the people who brought in keys with electronic devices that "owned" their car...........Helen

Thats a good question... I do believe that the people they were giving a hard time were the owners of the cars... I guess it all depends on who you get processing you in.:confused: I've prob. only been there like 7 times ( I started going in April) and I hadn't had any problems with my clothes til this past weekend. I try and be very careful... I guess there is a first time for everything... I'll take this as a learning experience for the future... I can admit it now but it was kinda funny cause I got stuck wearing these horrible brown faded stretchy pants cause thats all that was left that would fit... I'm kind of a chubb! Haha! Never again!

ya i had tht problem in june i was going for an ad seg appointment and you know visits are only 1 hour long so. me and his mom get in line they make her change beacuse they said her shirt was to green, so she went and changed, she comes back and were going threw processing again and then the have the dam nerve to tell me i couldn't go in becasue my pants were about the 2 inch mark of knee. i was so mad becasue by the time i back to the trialer there ws nothing to fit. i was ready to give up then i found some pants that didn't really fit me so i had to streach them out and i go threw with them, then i go back to line and i start going off, the stupid female C.o made me take my headband out and run my fingers threw my hair. i was very pissed off :angry: by the time i got in to the visitnt room i only got to talk to him about 15 mints.

i'm going this weekend again so i'm praying that i have no troubles

Welcome to Calipat!:D, Most visitors use the Ontario Airport, it's off the 10 Fwy, which connects to the 86 and 111 needed to get to Calipat. Good Luck. Also, about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs away.....

my best friend has been in there since 2003. He just got a 24 month SHU term for being a "program reject" when they sent him to the BMU (behavior modification unit.) He's been in the hole since January. He wants me to come visit him on Christmas and I'm not sure how far in advance I need to schedule an appointment for that cuz I know Christmas Day is always crazy busy and I've only ever had contact visits with him because before now he has "forbidden" me to see him when he couldn't have a regular visit. If anyone could help me out with that I would appreciate it.

Ok, so the closest Airport is....? I'm comonig from Tx so it doesn't really matter...Just the closest. With a rental car place, preferably.

The closet airport is Palm Springs. It's a smaller airport than Ontario but they do have a rental car place. Plam Springs airport would put you about an hour away from the Prison, Ontario is actually about 2hrs away (but its way bigger and probably cheaper to fly into)

i have someone there... it has not been that long...

trust me... time flies. I've been doing this for one year now and its seems like just yesterday I was driving up the 111 with my sister, nervous as hell, not knowing what to expect. Now it's nothing for me to jump up and hit the freeway at the spur of the moment to go see my baby... a 3hr drive is nothing to me now :)

Donovan to Calipatria since 12/07, he haven't r'cvd any of my 13 letters and thinkng I've turned my back on him. Is there anythng going on w/ the mailng systm? I'm not able to r'cv collct clls thru Globl Tel Link, hvng the hardest time w/ the company. Anyone know anything? I live in Georgia and this is complicated.

Send him a post card. I hear they get through faster. Or maybe overnight a letter to him. He will get it the next day.

Well I just had a visit in March 2008. And to be honest they are so F%&$& rude. They wouldn't let my lil sister in. She ended up crying her eyes out... Anyways anybody has a husband or boyfriend in C-yard in Calipatria State Prison hit me up. My boyfriend is in C-yard

Hi, I have been with the pto for close two 2 years,
As of this morning I found out that my husband, was packed out of centinela to calipat. How long do I have to wait to see him? he was to be at cent for at least 2 years, and now all level 4 are being sent all over the place. He is a great man, innocent and waiting for his appeal. In the mean time they just pulled him, he was on a medical hold.? So anything you can send me I would really appreciate it. Like are they on lock down alot, which is the worst yard? What to avoid wearing when visitin I usually wear dresses, he likes it and it is a lot cooler.
Anyway any help i sure could use it. On top of everything sincce he didn't see this coming, I know he is sad becasue tomorrow is my B day, and he wont be able to call.

Well I'm not new to PTO but to Calipatria ya. I just resently found out that one of my best friends is locked up there. I've been reading lost about this prison so far it don't sound like much of a great place. I hope I can find a friend or two on PTO that has someone in Calipatria. It really sucks having someone locked up specially when they are so darn far from you. Like my friend I wish I could just one day head over to visit but living in New Mexico makes it hard.

Why Is It 4 Days

When I pack to go up there it looks like I'm going on some vacation for a week....all the back-up outfits, shoes to match...damn I hate it.

Thanksgiving Day is a day Calif Prisons allow visits. (Thurs)
Calipatria allows visiting Fri-Sun.

Therefore we get 4 days :thumbsup:...YAY!!!!!!

Love that we get those extra days... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish they would have like special food there efor thanksgiving, or let you bring your own food in (dreaming) that would be great.

Love turkey day... but that was sweet... I think they serve some "turkey" for the inmates for chow... but nothing special ever in those vending machines... I rarely eat that crap... nor does my hubby... I hardly spend more then 20 bucks... mostly on drinks, popcorn, coffee and cheesecake... lol

My husband will be getting transpack to calipatria from CVSP this week, he has 1 1/2 month to go for his release date and has and INS hold so they are sending him to Calipatria (not sure what yard is INS inmates) however would like to know how long before he can get visits and use the phones, ect any information as to what time to get in the line (car line) would be great.
