I have to say that I'm here in Pensacola and I'm scared to death!! It looks like it's headed right for us AGAIN!! Y'all should see the way people are acting around here!! I went to get gas last night at midnight and it took me over an hour!! People are all driving like maniacs and we're all tense and jumpy! The only questions you hear anyone ask are, "so, are you going or staying? Where are you going?" No one knows what else to talk about! I just hope i have a house afterwards! I'm guessing that I won't have electricity for a few weeks now like last time. I'm going to miss my PTO!! Good luck to everyone else during the storm! I wish the best for everyone that will be affected by it!

My thoughts & prayers are with all of y'all down on the coast!!! After it's all over...PLEASE check-in as soon as possible and let us know you are okay!!

It seems like we just did Ivan! :( My daughter lives in Milton/Pensacola and she will most likely be coming here tomorrow morning. She is praying that Dennis goes somewhere else...they still have so much damage left from Ivan. Her husband is boarding up the house tomorrow....the bay water came within feet of flooding them out last time! I am all prepared...batteries, water, canned foods, flashlights, and have put away the outside furniture and loose objects. Now it is just a matter of waiting...watching.

I would like to talk to Joey...but the phones never work at the center. He will call if he can.

Stay safe...it is going to be a long weekend.

Hey Miner...my daughter lives down Avalon Blvd. near the toll bridge. It was pretty messed up with Ivan. The bridge situation is what really frustrated them! It takes so long to get somewhere! She is worried that this new storm will finish the bridge off!

Where you going in Alabama? I am near Enterprise and we expect alot of wind!

Well ladies, here we go again. Trust me Baldwin County is freaking out and so I'm I. I'm here Summerdale on Fish River (oh yeah the river does raise) which is 20 miles east of Mobile and 40 miles west from Pensacola, were screwed. We took the eye of Ivan, and our 2 acres are still a mess, to say the least, we still have trees lodged between other trees 50 foot up in the air (I guess for Dennis they will become torpedo's). But my husband and I have discussed it, we road out George in 98 and then Ivan hitting 30 days before we got married, both hit us pretty damn bad..so come on Dennis we picking up all our outside plants/furniture/**** from the property and going to 'AS THEY SAY IN THE SOUTH" HONKER DOWN AND WAIT FOR THE CRAP TO FLY" All of you guys stay safe and "HONKER DOWN". I am worried about Jason up in Ventress, it could go that way to. But all we can all do is pray....everyone stay safe. And always,
God Bless All of You,
Linda

All the ladies/gents in B'ham...I heard on the news a minute ago that once Dennis hits Tuscaloosa/B'ham...it will still be considered a Hurricane...and it's supposed to still be a "Tropical Storm" once it gets to Memphis. Looks like we are in for a ride. Everyone...STAY SAFE!

My son is at FCI Marianna, Fl, about 60 miles north of Panama City. As of last night he was still there, but he said buses were lined up outside. He has no idea what the plan is.

Joey called this morning...what do you know...the phones work on one of the worst weather days.....he said they were all fine at Elba WR.

Later all...Be safe!

Yep our wind advisory here changed to an inland tropical storm warning starting after midnight tonight. I hope my power doesn't go out or I'm going to be REALLY growling....

Spoke to B's folks who were just leaving St. Clair a couple of hours ago and everything was fine there...

We've just had a rainy day here. Nothing big.

I think the phones statewide must be out because B. was supposed to call yesterday. Anyone else had a call since Sunday afternoon? I seem to remember they were knocked out during last year's hurricanes for a little while. I think where the calls are actually processed is in Mobile or somewhere down in S.A. and that's why everyone loses them when a hurricane rolls thru...

I have not had a call either and my son has called the last 3 days in a row and he promised me he would call after the storm if the phones was working. so they probably are out for awhile.

Glad to hear everyone is okay!!!!

We didn't get much here...just alot of wind/rain/thunder etc. Our power flickered on & off for a few hours but, nothing major (thank God) It's still rainy and a little windy now (at times) but...nothing I can't handle...LOL

Kevin called me this morning and said they just had some rain and light winds there (in Decatur)...but, just thought I'd say that the phones in Decatur seem to be working. Maybe it's just S. Alabama who's phones are out????

Well, I'm alive here in Pensacola, FL! I don't have any electricity, but my house is okay. my phone just got turned back on, so I'm sitting here in my laptop by candlelight! LOL Gotta have my PTO fix! I've missed it the past couple of days. We have a lot of trees down here, and some buildings are pretty messed up, but for the most part, everything is fine. Not near as bad for most people as hurricane Ivan last September. I don't have much battery on the laptop, so I probably won't be on for a few days, but I just wanted to say that I miss y'all! Take care!

Oh, and to the person asking about FCI in Marianna, there was no damage there. Marianna is where I evacuated to, and there wasn't any really bad weather there.

But, the people in Century CF in Florida were transported today to other prisons. I know that some were transported early this morning to ACI in Sneads, FL.

My son called right after I posted so the phones are working at Draper too.
Glad to hear everyone did ok through this storm and it wasn't as bad as Ivan.
Selena I live in Decatur and everything was ok here. Rain and the wind wasn't even bad. Looks good today just muggy and a little overcast.

Glad to see everyone made it thru Dennis with flying...LOL...colors! All we got up here on the mountain was a few mild gusts of winds that knocked down a few dead tree limbs(remember I Have 30+ feet tall trees behind my trailer) and 1 1/2 inches of rain all told for the 12 hour period..LOL we got almost 1 in last night from a storm out of Mississippi that lasted only 2 hours....
Missed you all, my puter was messed up with no way to use a mouse. Still have issues with it like window size and color wont stay....trying to get it working!
