Well Hes been there since June/04, But i didnt find out till last week, so i just wrote to him aug.3 and I havent heard from him. Ive been trying to get info on the place, but no ones been able to tell me anything yet. In other threads ive read lots of negative stuff bout robertson; they have lots of probs with gangs, but i dont really know anything myself.

Thanks a lot for that info. I found him he's at the Pam Lychner state jail. I still haven't been able to talk to him. He got a year in state jail, but they said he probably won't stay their. Hello, I think that I have already talked to you on another thread. My husband is also at the ROBERTSON UNIT and has been there for almost the past 6 years. The ROBERTSON UNIT was also called ROCKING ROBERTSON in the past due to all the gang related fights. It is not as bad anymore as people think it is. There are gangs in every prison. Prisons are not as bad today as they were years ago when they were like "OZ' and "ALCATRAZ". I just got back this weekend from a visit with my sons father, It went very good, and my son was so happy to have seen his father. Please let me know if there is any other information that you need from the ROBERTSON UNIT in ABILENE, TEXAS.:o

Hey!! yes I've been reading your responses. Thanks for all of them!! Oh and i saw your picture and you're a real beautiful woman!! Well I finally heard from him this week:) and hes in lockdown:(. I guess being who he is doesn't make him immune to gang fights.:( But I suppose its preferable he be in lockdown than out where he can get in more trouble and possibly jeopardize his possibilities of being released when hes supposed to. Hes only been there for about a year now, with 3 more to go. Now that Ive heard from him Im at ease and not as worried as I was. I'd like to go visit him, but I dont think itll be possible anytime soon. Abilene is 6 hours away from El Paso and Im afraid of getting lost!! :) I've been sending him tons of letters, so many that I dont even know what to write anymore because Im afraid of writing about something i wrote in another letter. :p Im happy your son had the chance to visit his father!! Choice Moore unit is in northeast Texas, just south of the Oklahoma line. Are you familiar with Sherman Texas or Gainsville, Texas? Bonham is east of these two cities or about 60 miles northeast of Dallas.

My son just transferred from there and he is much happier at the new place. Because choice Moore is a transfer facility they live dorm style with 45 to 50 in each dorm. All visits are contact visits (unless there is a specific reason for a non-contact visist) There are a few decent CO's, but from my experience they are the exception.

Who decides what units they are to go to? My head is spinning and I sure hope my son gets sent to one of the better ones. I noticed some of them get sent to one place one day and then another the next day or month. What is up with all this craziness. Who is running these prisons and why won't they just allow them to stay in one place serve their time and then send them back home. Don't we all wish it was that easy???? I have nothing yet to say on TDCJ because we have not gotten there yet but if you have any information to share so that we are more prepared would be highly appreciated!!

Are we allowed to visist them when they are transfered to an intake unit before they sre sent to a permanet location? I know intake location takes about two months before they get transfered again.

mine just got to lopez state jail yesterday don't no if this is permately move or he is on his way home. he was supose to be getting out july 13.06. why they move him we both don't no?

My husband is still too far away (Ft.Stockton) his new home for now. He was moved from DickWare-1 yr/ Middleton 3 months. With all this moving they should just let him move in with me!

I don't know much about the Wynne Unit except that it is supposedly a laid back unit. I pass by there every time I visit my hubby on the Ellis Unit. I always see guys out walking the track or playing ball. When my husband graduated from college we went inside the Wynne Unit to the Chapel and the kitchen and it was nice. They have a band (inmates) and they are really good. Thats all I know. : )

They just transfered my son to Bridgeport. He doesn't really care for it but mainly because I have a hard time driving that far, My back can't take it. But it's air conditioned through out the prison as it is a privately owned prison.
He says they don't feed them enough, that I don't like. But he has just alittle more to go and he will be free! So he says he can take what ever they throw at him as he's finally coming home! May God Bless You all!

He has already came up for parole this past February and got denied... with a 2 year set-off... Best wishes to all.My fiance was transferred to the Gurney Unit May 17th and June 6th they transferred him out to Choice Moore in Bonham, Texas. The Gurney Unit is a transfer facility. They do their in processing there before they may be transferred somewhere else.
