I just wanted to share that my pal on DR brightened my day with a letter:)

but he is having problems getting certain items from canteen and I was wondering if there was any way I can order what he needs from a different company, and which companies I can choose from?

It depends what State he is from. Some States do allow somethings to be ordered and sent in.

If he is in Texas, he needs to order like food items, etc from commisary. You can order him things like books and stationary though.
As Softie said, it depends on which state he is in.

I'd suppose he's in Wisconsin. Call the prison where he is and ask someone there what is allowed. If you ask nicely, they'll most likely be helpful and give you the info you need. If he has a Case Manager, that's probably the person you need to speak with - OR speak with someone in the Mail Room and they can tell you what he can have sent in. Each prison has their own rules - and within that prison, they have different rules for different inmates, depending on their classification, so is best to call and ask them.

he is in Polunsky- and I forgot to specify that.. what he needs is something oredered in that cares for shaving irratation and overall dry skin.

Unfortunetly he will have to order that in his commisary account. You are not allowed to send care packages like that (though we should be able to I agree).
