I am an Ex inmate of the Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar, or as it's sometimes knowen to us ex's "THAT PLACE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GOLF COURSE" I spent 2 years at Miramar and have been out now for about 2 years. I stumbled upon this website as I was looking for info about Appeals. I would be happy to answer any questions that anyone has about how things work at Miramar. I am still a San Diego resident and have some contact with a few inmates still there so I am kept pretty up to date on the happenings inside the gates. If those families out there that are left wondering where do we go from here, life after a military conviction is not as horrible as your spouses or childrens superiors made it out to be. I have survied this experience and the worry and doubt of will I ever be sucessfull in life. For all those out there now wondering the same thing, yes there is a light at the end of the tunnel and hope of a future, all is not lost.

Thanks God for your life. I am a wife of a formal inmate at NCBM now, and is being a nightmare since all this start.:( I try to keep my mind and heart open, but I cant imagine what kind of life you have in there and what can you expect at the end, as you say, specially when you dont have to be there. I cant talk to my husband, only write letters, and he try to make me believe, everything is fine, (but I cant bite that story) First he is not more a military guy, he was discharge ten years ago, and at the begining of this year we both was stop in the border of Mexico, because the computer system show a warrant. after 4 hour I was release, but he was taken to the Brig and since then everything is a mess, Took me over 3 months to make the navy system he was discharge, how can they loose your papers or files, any way, he had a parole hearing last month and we still waiting for an answer, THing is he dont do nothing wrong and for the last ten years we have no problems, he went to school, he is a teacher and missionary, we have 2 wonderfull babies and yes I believe you when you say you can rebuild your life after an experience like that, my husband is an example, he was there 11 years ago, and he change his life totally after that, and now he is back there because some one loose some records and they want him to repeat his time, can you tell me , how can that can happen:confused: ? they wait ten years to find a mistake now, an I spend the last 6 months fighting with the navy system, try to get a lawyer ( funny, his JAG lawyer is being deployed to IRAQ) now we need to start over agin, he already loose his job, I cant work, and take care of the kids, because they are trap in other country and they can not travel because daddy is not here, in this past months we lost savings, medical care, we split apart , he is on the brig, I am in another state and kids are on another country, and we all are paying without no reason, So I ask you this, you really beleive I can trust in that brig and the legal system they rule? What kind of place is that? why he can make a phone call? how is posible that officers in the brig ask the families to send them money for whatever they need, or to make a phone call? Sorry, I dont understand the system, specially the navy one, to slow and to close, if I dont understand, how a 5 and 3 years old kids are going to do it. God bless you and all of the people involved in this situations, I am glad you make it.....I hope we can do the same thing.

Sir,
I'm glad to find this thread. I'd love some info from anyone that has any on miramar. My GCM starts before long and both possible PTA's or a straight conviction are probably going to carry some time at the Naval brig Miramar.
Thanks in advance for any feedback
