Sorry I hit enter to quickly. I have heard that the BOP might go back to the 6month halfway house rule for federal inmates. Anyone hear anything about this?

They have been talking about this since Gonzalez was appointed. The reduction in time was in Ashcroft policy. That being said, nothing has actually happened. It is just talk.

The 10% issue has been brought up by the Dept of Justice several times in the last fifteen to twenty years. I think the BOP would prefer to return to their old way of doing business, as it gives them more latitude. But...I doubt it will be changed by Gonzalez...and the District Courts are inconsistent in this matter.
