After reading through threads of mothers with sons in prison, I saw how faith and prayer for their sons is a constant thread in each story. God's ways are mysterious and we must trust Him. Our sons incarceration, as far as I feel, is an answer to a prayer. Though it may be painful. (This is not to say that parents with daugthers is any less traumatic). List your son's first name and we can pray for each other's son. Prayer changes things. May God Bless.

Isn't this amazing, Lillybee? 12 of us praying and holding each other up in prayer. And we'll grow and more of us will join. I am so excited for my son. Joshua was raised in church but he grew away from it. He got into a fast crowd. Nothing real bad just young people going nowhere fast with their lives. Well, a party on Valentine's and Josh drinking and friends whining for a ride home and Josh giving in. Only trouble is Josh shouldn't have been driving. He hit a car head on and hurt 2 innocent people. His dad and I stood by him in court and watched the tears stream down his face as he heard about their injuries. I thank God everyday that he didn't kill anyone. Living with the memory that he hurt them is hard enough on him and something I don't think he'll ever forget. I pray for his protection in prison but I also understand the need to punish him. I'm counting it Joy and believing that all things work for good for those that love the Lord. I've claimed victory and believe my boy will come home a man. That he will learn a trade and spend this time away from so-called friends to re-find himself and oh, please Lord let it be so - God. I am going to claim victory and these same promises for all of these boys. That they will lead good productive lives, whatever their circumstances. That the Lord will help them find purpose and meaning for their lives and when our time on this earth is over that our Lord will claim us all and we will live and love one another through eternity in Heaven. Thank you all so much for adding my son - Joshua Allen to your prayer list.

I have been holding this list of names and praying for our sons, and each other, everyday since we started the "Prayer Circle".........I'm expecting Miracles!! :D

Ok. I have 17 now. And I'm asking for a boy named Randy here in South Carolina. His mama has passed over so we need to stand in for her. When my son was scared and didn't know what to expect Randy spent time with him calming him down. Then after Josh left county Randy reached out to me and has helped me remain calm while I am not hearing from Josh. Boy, I tell you God sure has some strange but wonderful ways. Randy could have left Josh in pain and me in confusion and hurt but he didn't. He put himself last and reached out when we needed him most and for that he will always have me in his corner as long as he wants me there. You know what God did for Randy. After Josh left - Josh was his cellmate - Randy was alone so God sent him a Christian. Randy called me and asked if I knew about this God his roommate was talking about and could he trust what he was saying. A BIG AMEN. Well, I informed Randy that I was a Christian and yes indeed he could trust what the man was saying. I am now printing out devotionals to send to Randy because the man was released 2 days later. It's like God put the man with Randy to start the foundation and now I get to build on that. God is so good and has sent so many super people to minister to me these last few weeks. And even through my pain I see God's wisdom and hands in all this. I am at peace.

My son's name is Michael. Thanks for all your prayers. God said in his word, "If two of you agree down here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together because they are mine, I am there among them." Ladies, lets continue to pray for our sons/daughters. God Bless all of you.

It is nice to know that there are other believer here too. I am also a christian. If there is something I can do for Randy, let me know. I try to send bible verses to my son every week. We are in California. God has been good to me and my son. He has sent people who know the Lord Jesus Christ to my son numerous occasions. Please pray that my son continue to read the word every day and pray. I will pray for your son and Randy that God sends his angels to protect while they are incarcerated.

Oh, my goodness. The list keeps growing and growing. This is wonderful. At least once a day I pray for the entire list - naming each one and for those we don't know about. Everyone is someone's child so I am praying for all the "children". For God's will and strength in their lives. I am very excited. So many people praying for my son and a chance to give back and pray for them. Lilliebee did you know this would take off like this?!! Look at your ministry grow!! God is smiling on us. This is truly amazing. I have my prayer list and then a typed out list I carry in my purse so wherever I am I've got a list and can pray. I've got one more for you. Eric in South Carolina. Add Blake's friend Joshua to the list....he met him in county and his Mom prays for him as do I, he just wrote me how he misses Blake and has gotten into a fight without Blake there to help him. Pray for him, he lost both of his brothers to suicide and he did not believe in God anymore when my son met him. Blake got him to read the Bible with him and he now hs his faith back, so pray for his safety and for his faith to grow. He is a slight boy and kind of shy, which as we know makes him a target for bullies. He is still in Ellis County. Thank you guys - knowing that we are all praying for our sons, daughters and their friends gives me strength every day.

please add my son Matt, he is struggling and today I received a letter he is back in the hole. He is not handling it, he lost his appeal and just needs to feel our prayers. I will be praying for all our loved ones and their loved ones on the outside. We all need to feel the power of what prayer can do.

God has been know to work miracles with everything we hold dear and close to our hearts. We Moms and others find that thru the strength of prayer in huge numbers seems to work the best. I have seen this thruout the internet in groups I belong too.

It's amazing how fast a prayer circle grows. There are days when my faith tends to fail, but I just keep believing in the power of prayer. This prayer circle is wonderful. Hi everyone, I'm not a parent of an inmate, I'm the wife of one. Please put my husband, Brian on your prayer circle. He is in for his addictions and since being in, he has found God and tells me he will never touch a drop of alcohol again. I pray everyday for him to not get that temptation when he gets home and for nothing to ever take him away from me and our baby girl again. She is 9 months old and her first word was "dada" and she knows it is him when he calls.
He is also dealing with the beauracratic issues of the prison system and being transferred around. I also pray for his safety during all these transfers, especially his current one at CSATF.

I would like to add one more to the Prayer Circle .........Arron, my sons friend who has never been in trouble before, hung out with some guys, and now he is facing a possible Felony. The young man has been locked up and has court in 10 days. This is someone you can spot out that he would deffinitly be picked on.

Please add my Grandson Joey he is only 16 and in detention. I pray that he will be able to stand his confinment mentally. He has so many problems.
My family members are a mess. I have asked for prayer for 6 family members that are in prison or waiting to go.I know that God will answer prayer so we must keep praying.

Checking in, updating my list and praying for everyone EVERYDAY. My heart is so full right now. Everyone of us represent love, hopes, dreams and some disappointments. So many tears but also many happy times. We are bound together right now in pain but we are not hopeless. I pray that when we get to Heaven I can hug each and everyone of you and thank you face to face for helping to carry my burdens.

Well, if we are to share also good stories then I'll share this. My son, Joshua is only 22 and never in trouble before. He did what many people did but he got caught - driving dui and he hurt a lady. The sentences for that are so stiff these days. 14 1/2 years he got. Josh had turned away from God, leaving the lessons taught in childhood. But, I keep holding unto the bible saying if we train them up in the Lord, they will not depart. My take on that is that they may wander but in the end God wins and victory has been claimed - they will come back. So, I've been praying that God's will be done in Josh's life. That through all this pain and hurt something good would come from it. We've been struggling with Josh being bitter. He knows he did something wrong. He does feel, however that his sentence was stiff. Well, Josh called me the other day and for the 1st time we are hearing I can do this, it'll be ok. I was shocked as I was braced to hear another round of how terrible it is, why do I have to be here, on and on. Come to find out, God placed Josh in a cell with 2 other guys. One of them has been inside 17 years with no visitors or anyone helping him. This fellow can write his name and address and that's it. He saw Josh reading constantly and now Josh finds himself reading to the guy. And guess what? The guy requested that Josh read the bible to him. hehehe Don't tell me God doesn't have a sense of humor! I struggle figuring out the KJV of the bible so I sent Josh a copy of The Book. I love this bible. It is easy to read and easy to understand. Well, Josh is reading The Book to this guy and using the bible to try and teach the guy how to read. Josh's attitude is improving because he's doing something for someone else and not having so much time to feel sorry for himself. And me. I'm smiling from ear to ear. There ain't no way Josh won't read all of this and not think about it himself. God is so good. And victory has been claimed.

Thanks to all here on the prayer circle for your prayers and good luck the last Month or so. On Monday August 8th We got our parole for our daughter with only one stipulation...Shellee must spend 4 months at the LIFE Tech Center in Wetumpka! The reason for this I think was the total # of individual 1st degree burgulary charges that were on her jacket, even thou she has finished all of her sentences exept this 10 yr one and has the 7 on the outside. They did ask about the one from GA and I told them that GA was willing to let it be served in AL...

They started late doing a few hearings that didnt need the 3rd member there as they were going to be 45 min late. Of the 4 that went in front of us 2 didnt make it and 2 did....one of those that didnt had victims there against him.

I am really glad that they are making her go to this program, so she can reajust her thinking and what ever it is they do....she complained to me over the phone that she had taken all those classes offered already and couldnt take them again and I told her to do what they said that there was a reason the P&P sent you there! The drawback to this is that we wont get to visit for 6 weeks....but i think we can hang in there..good thing I just washed all her clothes that were in her trunk so now she will have nice ones instead of whites.

Again I want to thank you all for your prayers and I will keep you informed as to how she does at LIFE.

Here is my answer to prayer. My son has asked about entering a Masters degree program and it looks like he will be able to do it. Now I have to come up with the $$$$. Also, state senator who had known my son from college also paid him a surprise visit. He called me today to let me know that Trey is thriving as far as he could tell and that he could tell he has become closer to God. He was very impressed with my son's coping skills.

my son Matt is still need of prayer, I received a letter and he is back out of the hole but received another 115, received more time to his sentence and now may be changed from level 3 to a level 4 due to points. He is states he is in fear for his life, I keep writing him to please stay calm and do what he is told. He is fighting the system. He has a long 8 years plus. I am so worried and just keep praying he will accept where he is. Thank you for your prayers

my shadow I too am reaching out in prayer to give your son strength beyond his dreams to calm down and accept what he cannot change and accept things he can change. Please add my son to the prayer list. He is in for 35 months for trafficking ecstasy. When he was at his last minimum security camp, he went to Bible study every week and never missed. He was there almost a year and a half. He is on study release and gets to leave camp on his own to attend classes at a community college, which is wonderful. The thing that bothers me is that I have not heard him mention church or Bible study since he moved to this present camp. Please pray that he develops a true, lastingh relationship with Jesus. When that happens, I will be at peace. He has never had to worry about his safety since he was incarcerated, which is an answer to prayer. I am so thankful for that. I am praying for Matt!

I am praying that all of our young men and women find a lasting relationship with Jesus.

Myshadow: I will continue to pray for Matt and all the PTO boys. Remind yourself that God is keeping watch over your son. I don't understand why our sons, being imprisoned, still refuse to _______ (I can't find the word). I do know this that what they are going through is not a surprise to God. His word says that he saw our days before they came to be.

When my son's appeal was denied, he called and took his anger out on me, which hurt me deeply. Now I am standing back (still holding him up in prayer), I haven't written him (I usually write him each week). It's almost like God telling me to let go and let Him do what he has to do with my son. My prayer has been that I do not want my son home (he will have to live with me) unless there has been a "real" change in him. To release my son now will only be more trouble; as he has not yet "learned". God Bless You Shadow!

I haven't heard from my love in over a week. Later I found out he was on LD @ CSATF B yard. Today I was informed that there was a Riot. LD is now off, but still no word from him, I know it could be from everyone trying to get to the phones. But it's making me all twisted inside, I can't help but fall apart with worry. Please join me in prayer that he is ok. I won't rest until I hear his voice. My daughter misses her dad dearly, even though he wasn't the birth father, he is the only man that she calls DAD.

Over time I have come to know 4 men in prison, all of them sons of wonderful mothers. I am a mother of 3, non of them in trouble or incarcerated ever. My oldest son is applying for the Sherriff's Dept at this time. How I came to know these men is that one of my romantic relationships was with a younger man who fell under the spell of drugs and lost himself and his life. He is serving a short sentence (relatively speaking...26 months) but is struggling with the will, the "want to" to change. I pray for perserverance for him during his weak times. I am no longer involved romantically with him, our relationship was ruined while he was out here, but I refuse to totally dismiss him. He is one of God's children and he is never to be thrown away or disregarded. I am hoping that he will someday understand "unconditional" love... Two of the other men are friends of his and one is someone that a friend of mine asked if I would talk to. She saw a really nice man and thought I might like to know him. He is very nice, very real and very interested in changing his whole life around. His mother has passed away but I know she is at his side always, I can feel her presence. I have enjoyed knowing the mothers of all of these men and it has helped them to have me also "care" and have compassion for their beloved child. We have formed a loving bond between ourselves and I have been truly blessed by having these men and their families as my friends. With that said... may I list their names?

Recently God answered a plea of mine, I was worried not hearing from my Love, due to a LD on yard B @ CSATF. Saturday when I was out of town I got a call from him, I was so happy. He couldn't promise me when he would call next due to the tension is still there.
Please pray that God will shield and protect him until he is released. Also I know he only has over 2 months to go, but I cannot rest until I am able to go visit him. To make a long story short I have had problems with the visiting issue. When I spoke to Johnnie I told him what he needed to do, so I'm asking all of you to pray that everything has worked out and I can go visit him.
I continue to pray for all others, for I cannot be selfish..........

To share a story of praise... :) Damion's son was scheduled to have surgery this July on his hip because the ball joint was deteriorating. When they took him in the doctors did the usual pre-op preparations and found that when they took x-rays, his son's ball joint was regenerating itself. This is unheard of, a miracle, the doctors said.

Damion is struggling with his belief in God right now. He had stated a few months ago that he wants "proof". He is stunned by this development and he is sure that prayers have had everything to do with this miracle. I love to watch God work!! He is such an AWESOME God!

We grow tired and weary but we must know that God and others are here to keep us from falling. Do not be discouraged.

After reading through threads of mothers with sons in prison, I saw how faith and prayer for their sons is a constant thread in each story. God's ways are mysterious and we must trust Him. Our sons incarceration, as far as I feel, is an answer to a prayer. Though it may be painful. (This is not to say that parents with daugthers is any less traumatic). List your son's first name and we can pray for each other's son. Prayer changes things. May God Bless.

My brother and sister in the Lord as well as myself have organized a Ministry, the name of it is Extended Hands Ministries. We will pray and are praying for every person who is locked down in prisons all over this world. I am glad to have shared Damion's story. Thank you for reading. I have absolute faith that God will provide the "proof" Damion needs because He loves him. You are absolutely right. I just love being able to watch it all happen, it is the ultimate thrill, experiencing one of God's miracles!

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for adding Michael to your prayer list. My son is in Calipatria State Institution in California where a riot broke out on Thursday around 3 p.m. He is housed in the area where the riot started C Yard/Building C4. An inmate was killed in Building C5 and many other inmates and staff injured. I feel confident that my son is okay. I pray everyday for my son to be "covered in the bleed". I know God is protecting him. Please continue to pray for my son and all at Calipatria. The lockdown will probably last for a while because it is believe it was a planned attack and the prison is in a State of Emergency Mode right now.

I will pray for all as well. I am so glad I found this thread.

Johnnie is feeling pressure about entering Society again, he has been feeling down and overwhelmed. Please Pray for him, Sunday he wouldn't even look into my eyes, I could tell sadness was there. He thinks he is less of a man just because he won't have the things to provide me. But I know that takes time, and its a two way deal, I will help him in anyway. God put us together.......

I got a letter form Trey today and here is an answered prayer.
This is what he wrote:

Mom, I am really at a good place in life emotionally, spiritually and physically. I'm so happy and at peace that I'm almost expecting something bad to happen and each day that goes by without something bad makes me that much happier. I'm not even worried about parole or coming home because I know it's going to happen soon.

To have him say he is happy and at peace is all I could ever ask for.

Hello, My Son Is 23 Yrs Old And He Is In Mcfarland Ccf In Mcfarland, Ca. My Son Is Serving Time For Drug Crimes He Committed. I Love My Son Very Much, But I Don't Condone What He Has Done. My Son Did Not Listen To Us When We Told Him That He Was Going To Get Caught Soon Or Later And He Did. In Galatians 6:7 It Says "you Reap For You Sow"! Those Who Live Only To Satisfy Their Own Sinful Desires Will Harvest The Consequences Of Decay And Death. My Son Has Been Incarcerated A Few Months Now. It Started In La County Jail And Ended Where He Is Now. His Release Date Is 11/21/05. god Can Not Let Sin Go Unpunished. "the Lord Is Slow To Anger, Abounding In Love And Forgiving Sin And Rebellion. Yet He Does Not Leave The Guilty Unpunished...."(numbers 14:1) I Know All Of You Love Your Children And So Do I. We Must Tell Our Children If They Love Jesus, They Must Obey His Commands. I Will Pray For You And Your Loveones. They Need God's Protection Everyday They Are Locked Up. They Must Pray Also That God Will Put A Hedge Of Protection Around Them Why They Sleep At Night. May God Be With All Of You Doing This Time.

Tidimae: I think of my son's incarceration as an answered prayer. My prayer is that through this he will come to salvation and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. He has been attending church services in prison. I do not condone what my son did. I don't think none of us do. Yes, people suffer the consequences of their sin, BUT God gave us the privileges repentance, salvation, prayer and forgiveness.

I went to visit my son today (Robert) yesterday (9-1) was his birthday (23). I cannot get him to understand that he must trust God in this situation. I explained to him that he has to let go of his attempts to free himself from prison (appeal, new trial, etc) and give it totally to God. That as long as he holds onto it and tries to solve it himself, God will not move on it. I am worried that he will drive himself crazy with the fact that he is in prison charged with crimes he did not commit (at least in their severity) (Rape, Kidnapping, Assault, Burglary). He is wavering between insanity and total resignation mixed with anger. He is also facing the possibility of being moved to his parent prison now that he has finished the sex offender classes along with the fact that any money that is sent him, some will be taken towards his court costs. I cannot begin to send him clothes or food boxes until he reaches his parent institution, he is technically still in reception. He eyes seems so sad and the pain I see in them frightens me. The only thing I can do is pray for him and be there. I visited for a while and it hurt to leave him. Each time I visit him I get excited to see him, but when I leave there is a feeling I cannot describe that haunts me the rest of the day. I tell myself that all of this is no suprise to God and hopefully I am thinking the right way about all of this. That God's mercy and grace will prevail somehow. God Bless you all. :)

My granson Joey has been released from Jenuvile Detention and goes to court on Monday, if my son can find him. After court last Monday he stayed home for 2 days and then ran off again. No one can find him but his sister saw him out town Friday night and he told her he had fooled everyone so they would let him out that he was doing meth. Maybe jail is where he needs to be so that he might have a chance to get off the drugs. I thought that after 6 weeks that he was in detention he would be able to stay away but he isnt. Drugs are his way of life and I ask that everyone prays the God will intervene and do something no matter what to get him free of drugs. I dont want to bury my beautiful grandson.

I thank the Lord veryday for my son and that he real change in there he writes me and say i will change and he has 11yr to do that. but i ask that you all keep him in prayer for he is trying to get his fathers rights back for he was never taken to court went his grilfriend which now is his wife told the court that she did not know were he was at so they gave her all rights. but one thing our heaven Father see all and knows that she lie so he wrote the courts and told them that she did and that they got marred in there 2weeks after she went to court. so they let him open this case up so i ask that God have his way in this. thank you for listen to me i love my son and grandson just wanted the best for the two of them.

My sons name is Brent and he's been locked up for 14yrs, they arrested him aug 16th on his 20th birthday and he just turned 35 aug 16 of this year. He has been thru so much only god knows. Why do I doubt God's power? Why do I worry? My son was transferred from Madison to his home institution of Lebanon (Ohio). I was so fretful about him being moved, but he called and said as institutions go, he is okay where he is. He even sounded "good". Immediately, I asked God's forgivenesss for doubting Him. He is there and He does hear our prayers for our sons.

Have No Fear

One day in the mountain region of Scotland, a gigantic eagle snatched a little baby out of his crib and flew away with him. The people of the village ran out after the big bird, but the eagle perched itself upon a nearby mountain crag. Could the child possibly be rescued? A sailor tried to climb the ascent, but he was at last obliged to give up the attempt. A robust Highlander, accustomed to climbing those mountains, tried next and even his strength failed. At last a poor peasant woman came forward. She put her feet upon one shelf on the rock, then on the second, then on the third and in this manner she rose to the very top of the cliff. While all below held their breath for sheer fright, the came down step by step until she stood at the bottom of the rock with the child safely in he arms. Immediately shouts of praise arose from the crowd that had gathered. Whey did that woman succeed when the strong sailor and the experienced mountain climber had failed? Because that woman was the mother of the baby. Her love for her baby had given her the courage to do what the others had failed to do. If the love of Christ is in your heart, you, too, will find that you will have the courage to do whatever he directs you to do.

If anyone is watching the Hurricane Rita updates, they are showing Beaumont Texas. This is where the hurricane is expected to hit. There are 6000 prisoners there who have not been evacuated. Many, many family members are very tense tonight.

Please add my baby boy, Dustin DeLoach, to the prayer list. Just transferred to a Probation Detention Center today from local county jail. He has tried to call me today, but for some reason, my line is blocked, and I can't get calls from him. His dad says he's scared. Please pray that God will put people in his path that will lead him to a better life, not make him bitter or worse than what he was before. No matter what, I love my son.

Just to say I to pray for everyone here everynite. I know that everyone is praying for both my sons Eric and Jeremy...please say special prayer for Eric as he has just committed himself today for detox and that this will be the one for him to stay strong and finish the program and to ask God to keep him strong to stay away from it when he gets out.

I don't know if I posted in here already but I'm gonna post anyway again in case I did! My sons name is Brent and he's been in 14yrs already on a 15yr sentence, he's been turned down from parole several times and we can't figure out why? He gets out 2007 in anycase parole or no parole as he will of done a serve all. So yes we need all the prayers we can get and in turn we are praying for all of you!! Just something to Read....


Take my Son

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would often sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father was notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the door. A young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, "Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He often talked about you, and your love for art." The young man held out this package. "I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I think your son would have wanted you to have this."

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by the young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the eyes that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and offered to pay him for the picture. "Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your son did for me. It's a gift."

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came to his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed them any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his paintings. Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the great paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son. The auctioneer pounded his gavel. "We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will bid for this picture?"

There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, "We want to see the famous paintings. Skip this one."

But the auctioneer persisted. "Will somebody bid for this painting. Who will start the bidding? $100, $200?"

Another voice angrily. "We didn't come to see this painting. We came to see the Van Goghs, the Rembrandts. Get on with the real bids!"

But still the auctioneer continued. "The son! The son! Who'll take the son?"

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the longtime gardener of the man and his son. "I'll give $10 for the painting." Being a poor man, it was all he could afford.

"We have $10, who will bid $20?"

"Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters."

"$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?"

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. "Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!"

A man sitting on the second row shouted, "Now let's get on with the collection!"

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. "I'm sorry, the auction is over."

"What about the paintings?"

"I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that stipulation until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned. Whoever bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the paintings. The man who took the son gets everything!"

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the auctioneer, His message today is: "The son, the son, who'll take the son?"

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

After a HORRIBLE day at the office, I rushed home to change clothes (from Summer ones to Winter ones- as the Winter showed up this afternoon =/) and head to my grandson's football game. Since I had to miss last week due to an unexpected appointment, I DID NOT WISH to be late, much less, miss his game a-g-a-i-n. You can imagine my disappointment when (1) I couldn't find a warm coat OR jeans that fit (have gained far too much weight since Jan 05 =( (2) loaded quilts and seat cushions in hand & (3) grabbed a banana as an "until dinner" snack, and (4) slammed the front door shut...... only to discover my keys (ALL of them - car and home) were locked inside. My car (unlocked with my cell phone & purse- as I'd only intended to 'change' & 'leave') was a safe haven as I cried my way thru the game & awaited my husband returning AFTER the game with the house key. I'm SO-O-O-O thankful we have this wonderful "meeting place" God has provided with kindred hearts. I'm praying for my entire prayer list PLUS others I've discovered by reading "threads" over the past few months. God bless us all as we muddle thru the red tape and learning experiences here. I KNOW everything happens for a REASON. Of course, tonite I wasn't "buying it"..... but tomorrow WILL be better.
ps: My daugher brought my grandson over for coffee after the game so he could tell me his plays in person. He made the only 3 touchdowns for his team - with help from others blocking of course- but I couldn't help but swell with "pride" at his efforts and to thank the Lord for these blessings in the middle of my trials. Prayer Request - My son called. Said he was "bugging out" today. I told him that I would continue to pray for him and that he has got to be strong. He said that he still reading his Bible and went to church there. I am concerned about him having enough blankets, warm clothing now that it is getting cooler. He said his tooth fell out and that he has a partial tooth still intact and is in pain. He said things move slowly there. Before I allowed myself to get up, I went in my room and prayed that God's favor be on Robert so that he can get his teeth corrected before an infection sets in. I must learn to take my own advice :)

I was wondering if you are going through something similar that I am. Anyone else who is going through this too. I need pray for my relationship with my son who will be released soon. He seems like he's going through so much stress. He has already said that he doesn't want to come to myhouse but yet I don't know where he's going to go. He says he loves me but he can't be around me because I make him angry. We both need pray. Is this what others have experienced when they get close to release? Does it get better?

I don't have much practice in the use of a computer, and I am very glad to have stumbled upon this site.
My son, David is 35 years old (old enough to have long known better) and is in a Federal camp in Morgantown, WV. He served a year in "medium" security at FMC Lexington before being sent to "minimum security" at Morgantown six months ago, and now has four years left to serve.
After ignoring warnings by me and others who love him, the money was too "easy". He turned away from a late college education and was eventually caught by the FBI. He was convicted of "conspiracy to distribute".
His "girlfriend" went to see him once, shortly after David was sent to Lexington. She never went back. Instead, she found someone else, shortly after, and lives a very sad life of drugs, strip clubs and occasional beatings. Unfortunately, this is the only life she has known as an adult.
My son still pines for her. He won't let it rest and continually tortures himself saying that he will find her when he's out and make things better for both of them.
I keep telling him to let go and put her out of his mind for good. After all, she certainly forgot about him quickly enough. I'm afraid that if he carries this torch for the next four years, even if he succeeds in prying her loose from her element, she will eventually drag him back down into the world he found himself in before he was arrested.
Meanwhile, I am the one to goes to visit him. It's not easy to make the trip. When he was at Lexington, I drove my aging car there, driving three hours one way from Indianapolis. I was able to go to see him once a month. Now that he is in Morgantown, that's 450 miles away! I've been there twice since June, and don't see how I can go back until the Spring...especially with winter coming.
David calls me a couple of times a week until the money his father sends him runs out. Then I have to wait until the following month to talk to him.
But all I hear him talk about is a girl who forgot about him as soon as he was out of her sight. He seems to be incapable of putting his mind right and getting on with his life even though that seems to be what his girl did. I talked to her mother once. She herself told me that my son should forget about her.
I do nothing but worry about his mental state. I feel helpless to hear him talk such gloom and doom about himself. He says he won't be able to borrow money to finish college when he's out and probably no one will hire him to work. All I can do is wring my hands and cry, because as much as I try to give him words of hope, I'm afraid in the end my efforts will be all for nothing.

Elenka: I can definitely related to your story. My son age (23) fell in love with a "street wise" woman. He was beguiled by her. He had gone to jail numerous times because of her for misdemeanor charges before he ended up in prison. I did all I could do to make him see how she was using him and that the "love" was not genuine. However, it was like he was in a daze. Even now while he sits in prison, he still pines for her. So I am glad that relationship ended because only God knows how worse it could have become.

Does anyone have these names in a Word or WP doc where I could be emailed a copy as a attachment?

Thank you - each and every one that prayed for my son Michael and his psychiatrist exam on Friday. I'm both mad and embarrased to tell ya'll the following news, though. Michael STOOD UP the phychiatrist. I can't believe it, or don't want to believe it, but he did. Since he doesn't know the doctor charges by the hour, he has no idea (we don't know, either, yet) what this "escapade" will cost us. The exam was to cost $1000 to $1500 at least - WITHOUT him pulling this stunt. Please keep this in prayer. Michael hasn't been "brave" enough to call us this weekend, either, but I plan to let him know this was entirely FOR his benefit and mad at us or not he should have seen the doctor. =@( (thanks again- you Prayer Circle friends are a God-send, really!)

My Michael hasn't called ALL WEEK. Some of you know he STOOD UP the psychiatrist last FRiday.... which will cost us .... but worse yet, will hurt his case. Our attorney has us convinced that very little else will help his "sentencing" on Oct 26. I'm asking relatives and friends to write letters to the Judge, but outside of that....... PLEASE - PLEASE pray that Michael will trust us enough to have the exam. My uncle committed suicide years ago, and my mother, brother and sister are terribly "manic" with depression episodes. (Guess I am as well....but still in denial =@/ ("") Thank you all - in advance. Thank you, Lillybee, for your special prayers and messages, too.

I can't imagine not needing prayer :hmm: Kind of like what was said in Lillybee's quote of Charles Swindoll's, the Lord wants us to recognize our need and know we can't do anything in and of ourselves. Our trust and faith must be in Him. But, that doesn't mean we passively sit and watch the enemy bring our loved ones to ruin. We have been given authority over all the power of the enemy (Lk 10:19). We need to walk in that power and fight for those we love. So, if there's any spiritual warriors out there, let's unite in prayer and claim victory over this situation, in the mighty name of Jesus!

Hi, everyone!
Thank you EVERYONE for your prayers for my Michael. Please continue, though. My Michael STOOD UP the phychiatrist for the exam we'd paid for last Friday (Oct 7). At our visit Weds nite I found out he stood him up because they were in the middle of a "shake down". If he hadn't stayed there for the "shake down" ALL of his belongings would have been thrown away, he says. Books, photos, letters, commissary items, everything. They were just too important to him - plus he's lost all hope that the exam will sway the judge much as well. NOW the attny has to get special permission AGAIN from the Judge for another appointment, and the doctor has agreed to show back up this THURS, FRI or SAT. So we'll see. Michael says he can't see the doctor Monday (because if they have a "shakedown" it's usually on a Monday), Tuesday (that's commisary day, and he knows someone else will take his "stuff" delivered on that day - food he counts on most all week as he HATES everything the jail cooks and brings), or Weds (visitation day- they put him in the gym hours before our visit - plus leave him in there for hours AFTER our visit,,, and he doesn't want to miss our visit, either). Please pray with me that he will have God's wonderful peace-that-passeth-all-understanding up to (and after) his sentencing Oct 26. Will you?

I have input our PRAYER LIST on a Word Document. Believing,,, do you still want this? Others, too, might want a typed out list to carry with them for prayer during the day. Let me know. My husband and I had a hearing yesterday and we were granted temporay supervised visitation of our granddaughter. We hadn't seen her since New Year's day. We spent an hour with her and her mother was very gracious

Now for the request. I mentioned earlier that my son's ex-wife has sued for temination of oarental rights. The trial for this has been moved from November 3rd to December 12. Our attorney is hoping for a mediation settlement. That would be so much nicer than a nasty trial.

Thank you so much for your prayers. My sons name or Courtney Ray, Robert Ray, and Brandon Davis. I am praying everyday that they come out of the dark and into the light.

Hey, ladies! Just wanted to say THANKS AGAIN for your continued prayers for my Michael. He had his psychiatric exam today (finally) - it took 3 hours appx the doctor said. He also advises the written papers will go to the attny. by Monday for court on Weds 9am. Oct 26. Please pray for God's wonderful grace and the judge's mercy. Will you? The other nite I was thinking -
wouldn't it be something if when our children fall short and commit a crime we could step forward and pay for it - either with our own imprisonment OR with money? Then I talked to the Lord about it, and He reminded me that this is exactly how He felt when He and Jesus decided on the plan of salvation. We were totally helpless to "wipe out" our debt; He knew it and willingly did it. Good nite you sweet people - love all of ya'll for bein' there for us =)

I have a prayer request. My son, Kevin, is still in Oakdale, the classification unit for Iowa. He has a 5-yr sentence, but will probably serve much less than that. He has a 7-yr old son, Levi. Levi's mom has nothing to do with Kevin any more (she lost hope for him long ago. He's had a heroin addiction for years). She had said he could call once or twice a month while in prison, but I found out that she won't answer the calls since the ID doesn't show who's calling. We pay for his phone card, so the calls are free to her. I feel she is purposely not answering. We all attend the same church, and she lets us have Levi a few hours after church approx every couple weeks.

Kevin called yesterday when I was not at home. He talked to his dad and said he was going to call today, but not to accept the call unless Levi was here. I really want to talk to him, but will honor his request if he calls. I can always write him a letter.

Please pray for the Lord to soften Torrie's (Levi's mom) heart. Even though Kevin hasn't been a responsible dad, he loves Levi the best he's been able while under the control of drugs. Levi had said awhile back that he misses his dad and wished he would call. I want Levi to know that his dad has tried to call, but I also feel we need to trust the Lord in all this. It's my prayer that this whole season of Kevin's life will change him, that he will start living a life pleasing to the the Lord, and will be a godly dad to Levi.

Thank you all. Many would not understand; it would seem Kevin is getting what he deserves, but then, if God gave us all what we deserved, none of us would ever see heaven! If only we could possess the forgiveness that the Lord has extended to us.

Louise - I hope you don't mind me borrowing part of your screen statement for a minute. Just want to ask everyone of ya'll to pray for my son Tuesday & Wednesday - tomorrow- Michael goes for sentencing Weds morning 9am with Judge Black. Since he's accepted a BLIND PLEA- it's up to the Judge (and the Lord) how much of a sentence he will get. The DA was insisting on 45 years- so we feel certain it will be less than 45 years. I am asking for your prayers, though, for him AND for us, his parents. The psychologist says his exam shows significant mental issues- emotional ones AND depression- so I'm going to beg the Judge for Mental Help (counseling and medicine) while he's incarcerated. They've been giving him meds off and on - not regularly - in jail as some of you already know. Thanks again for your prayers. God hears them - and will answer them. God Bless! De De =)

I ask for the Lord's favor to be with Michael and also that he'll receive the help he needs. God can work all things for good and He'll do what He says He'll do.

Dear DeDe: I will pray that God's will be done which may be different than what we want for our sons. God knows exactly what Michael needs and when and how to deliver it. DeDe, God will not wrestle with you over Michael. If you trust God, step back, please and let God work. I will remember you and Michael in my prayers.

Good morning ladies. Sure appreciate your prayers and encouragement. We got a call late last night from the attorney - - - Michael's court date has been put off for now. Couldn't say how long- but at the request of the D A - the lady in charge of his file couldn't be there this morning so they called it off. We called family members and friends who'd planned to attend.... and will wait on a diff. day. Poor Michael - there was no way to let him know so they'll wake him at 4am and drag him to court with a "naked" bologna sandwich for lunch- only to find it's all for nothin'. Will keep you informed- but for now - bunches of thanks for the prayers. I KNOW this is God's will. Michael needs some help - and he sure wasn't getting it outside of the system. Praying he'll get it "inside". =) Have a good day!

Received a letter from my son today. There is a maturing taking place in him. He said the reason he doesn't call so much anymore is that he wants me to know that he is growing up, standing on his own two feet. Even though there is still anger, there also is a strengthening occurring. I thank God for this and Praise Him.

Still praying and always will for our boys. :)

Its sooooo painful, but I know good will come out of it. I have already seen it in my son. I have always consoled myself with the fact that this is what he needs to become a young man. He is only 17, when he comes home from shock, he will be 18 and has spent a total of 14 months incarcerated. I pray because he's sooo young, this will be an experience he never wants to go thru again. Of course, he is my baby, so, if it ever happends again....I will still be there for him.

Thank you so much for your prayers for my son's sentencing. He got a SEVENTY YEAR sentence yesterday. SEVENTY YEARS. He's 32 now.
The judge said he'd review the case in 365 days
and possibly change it some if Michael does well in jail this first year.
Please pray for my family and for Michael right now.
We pray that God's perfect will will be done in all of this, whatever it is.

I Know, "HOW GREAT THOU ART"!

This quote is out of a letter I received from the son of one of my best friends. His dad and I roomed together 35 years ago and have kept in touch ever since. Such a statement would make any Christian dad proud. But there's a story behind it. Quite a painful story.
You see, the "free world" he refers to here is not the non-communist world - he's too young to be familiar with that usage of the term - no, he's referring to the world outside of where he's been serving an eleven-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. "God used prison to bring me to a level of brokenness that I have never experienced before, so that I could surrender Lordship of my life to Him."
I can only imagine what kind of a road this has been for Dad. We are all so desirous of being seen as the perfect parents. I am. There are things I would rather you didn't know concerning my kids, which is fine, because I'm not required to tell you everything, but it's kind of hard to hide the fact that your son has been in jail for eleven years of his young adult life.
I can just imagine meeting new people at church or on business trips: "And how about you? Got any kids? What are they up to?"
"Yeah, well… I have a daughter about to graduate and a son in prison."
Oh… okay… so what shall we talk about now?
I'm sure David is thrilled with the current state of his son's spiritual commitment, but I'm sure, too, that if he could have chosen a different path by which to get him there, he would have. But these are choices dads just don't get to make. You can't take credit for good kids or blame for bad ones. You just love them either way.
There is a dad, waiting at home for his son to come to his senses. There's no guarantee that he will, but the father hopes anyway, and casts a look now and then down the driveway just at the outside chance that his son is coming up the road. A couple times he imagined he saw him there, but that was just the tears in his eyes playing tricks on him.
But then, lo and behold, one day he's blinking and the image doesn't go away. He calls out, "Who is that coming up the road?"
"It's me, Dad. It's your son."
Now that's one heck of a way to get one more servant of the Lord, but I'd say it was worth it. Im praying for everyone and please pray for my son and husband and even my 15 year old that is trying to go the same way.

This quote is out of a letter I received from the son of one of my best friends. His dad and I roomed together 35 years ago and have kept in touch ever since. Such a statement would make any Christian dad proud. But there's a story behind it. Quite a painful story.
You see, the "free world" he refers to here is not the non-communist world - he's too young to be familiar with that usage of the term - no, he's referring to the world outside of where he's been serving an eleven-year prison sentence for drug trafficking. "God used prison to bring me to a level of brokenness that I have never experienced before, so that I could surrender Lordship of my life to Him."
I can only imagine what kind of a road this has been for Dad. We are all so desirous of being seen as the perfect parents. I am. It was just what I needed to bless me and encourage me to keep my faith tonite.

About an hour ago, I was praying for all of our "kids" and their parents, and in the other room my husband was watching the news. A commercial came on and the old, old song "SMILE" was played in the background. When I finished praying, I found myself singing this old song but changing the word SMILE to PRAY. Try it!
It doesn't rhyme at all, but seems to be an encouragement tonite that goes right along with God's scripture (Romans 12:12) and the quote about prayer above, too, don't you think? I think this was a "blessing" sent straight from the Lord tonite! God bless you - all of you! De De

When I’m suffering, I really need patience, Lord. Putting up with something uncomfortable isn’t easy, and I’m tempted to become angry or cranky when things don’t go my way. They’ll try to tell me I did something wrong, even when I know I’ve done my best to obey You. I wanted to let all of you know how much your prayers helped my Family and others. Dave has been home 2 months and is doing great. My Grandson is stable with his Brain Disease and I keep all of you in my prayers. God has truely blessed our lives and my faith keeps getting stronger. I see a Miracle everyday when I look into my Grandson's beautiful face. Thank you to all of you. Please keep Dave and David in your prayers also Diana who needs God's strength right now, my nephew Jesse who just received 2 more years to his sentence that he will let God into his heart.

They Live In Tx But We Have No Other Relatives There. Her Daughter, darla, Drove Down To Spend This Week With Her - And I'll Go Down This Weekend. Please Pray For Him & For God's Comfort During This Time. She Didn't Want Buck To Retire In April 2005 As She Feared He Would "die" Just Sitting Around. Now That He's Got 90% And 60% Blockages In His 2 Main Arteries, She Believes Her Fears Are Coming True. . . . She Is A Strong Christian And Knows It's All In The Lord's Hands, But Please Pray For Peace For Her. Thanks! De De

We "retired" in 2002 and in Jan 04 he had a heart attack and triple by pass. He is doing good now. He had no indication of any heart trouble, until the heart attack. In a daily Scripture/prayer email that I receive, the one I got today just seemed so appropriate for our sons & daughters that have fallen (for anyone, for that matter) and is also such a testimony to the goodness of the LORD.

Micah 7:7-9 says this:

If God is able to sustain the lesser creates, won’t He sustain the greater. Maybe you’re worried about things that seem important in your life. Yet your heavenly Father knows what is essential better than you do. And you are worth so much that He is taking things one at a time, dealing with more important things right now in your life. How nice, Jacquie! I've told her to be THANKFUL the Lord spared him of a heart attack to get to the surgery. The LORD led him to a MEDICAL STUDY GROUP on BLOOD PRESSURE - since it was FREE, since he hadn't been to the DOCTOR in YEARS AND YEAR, and since he had lots of EXTRA TIME on his hands from retiring. That led to finding the 2 main arteries clogged 60% and 90%. I'm so thankful to the Lord for all of this. My younger sister and I clash big time - but my older sister Lucinda and I are very close - though she lives out-of-state. . . . but my sympathies would be with ANYONE who looses their spouse - especially after 45 years!!! Thanks for the encouragement - and for EVERYONE's PRAYERS !!!

Thanks, Lillybee, for the encouraging Scripture! Had a fairly sleepless night last night thinking of my son Kevin. Talked to him yesterday and he's feeling stressed. He's in a maximum security prison when he was supposed to go from there to a minimum security place. Because a warrant from Missouri (we're from Iowa) never got released like they thought it had, they can't move him until it's cleared up. Hopefully, MO will release it since he's serving time anyway. But, it'll take time. I'm believing whatever happens is the Lord's will and all part of His plan for Kevin's future. "He rescues and He saves" is the promise I'll be keeping in mind today. Hi everyone.I haven't been on for awhile cuz I've just been to down. After readibg tinught akk the posts i feel more uplifted. Plesse say special prayer for me cuz lately I just felling like I can't handle everything anymore even though I know God does not give usa more than we can hadndle latey I feel like he has. Help me to find the strength that i need and for him to show me the aaaaaaanswers to what zi need to do.

Keeping everyone in prayer - and apologize, too, for not keeping in touch this week. It's been C-R-A-Z-Y at work plus I found it extremely trying to help my husband & grandson pack and get off deer hunting Thurs nite (up almost all nite). Want everyone to know they're in my prayers, though. Asking special prayer, too, tonite for myself. Thought my IBS was going crazy during this past month - PLUS thought my system might have been alergic to a cholesterol medication my doctor gave me - and now he's STOPPED that rx and put me on a tranquilizer. I've NEVER wanted to take tranquilizers..... he knows this, but feels they might help my stomach - so I'll try them. PLEASE PRAY I don't have to STAY on these. I don't want to take them. ALSO.... please pray specifically for my stomach aches. They don't let up anymore. Thank you - in advance =) Please also pray my son's ex-wife shares his 2 children (Meghan and Mikah) with us soon. It's been 3 weeks since they've returned phone calls OR seen us at all. =( De De

Saved part of an e-mail last month- so glad I did - and thought I'd share it. WE ALL could use more FAITH at times, couldn't we? I also like the parts that say "You don't have to SEE friends to have them" and "You don't have to "see" a smile to feel the smile of another". My son's name is Jason, and this will be his first Christmas in prison. I am not dealing well with this either. I spent November 3-6 on a mental ward. I tried to cut my wrists. I need some happiness in my life, I hate being so far away from my children.

FINALLY took the mild tranquilizers I'd been dreading taking. Most of all, I dreaded the ZOMBIE feeling I had when I took these SAME PILLS just after my Mother died in 1996. CAN'T BELIEVE THIS..... but I can't even tell I'm taking them?!!!??! Once I got to sleep last nite, I slept all thru the nite and wasn't groggy this morning OR any all day.
THANK YOU everyone for your prayers. Just can't believe I'm not zombie-like. NOW.... they haven't helped with my terrible stomach aches- but we'll see.
THANKS for the prayers for Michael, too. Spoke with him tonite and he wasn't as upset over being in jail over Thanksgiving like I thought he would be.
Holidays are terribly important to him - and he misses his 2 children awful. Told me
he'd written them both a letter, and asked me to ASK their mother again if they can have them. We'll see on this, too. Love and prayers for EVERYone tonite....

Even though my husband and I are used to one or both of our sons being gone during the holidays, my heart is burdened this year for everyone of the PTO mothers (dads, too) who have sons/daughters incarcerated. My biggest prayer is that those who don't know the Lord be brought to His saving grace; and those that do, feel His presence in a very real way and never doubt that He is right there with them, loving, guiding, and giving them the strength to make the best of this time. God has an ultimate goal in mind; that we might have hope. And what leads to such a goal? Two things: perseverance and encouragement from the Scriptures. Again, the goal is hope. God has not designed a life of despondency for us. He wants His people to have hope…through endurance and through encouragement from the Scriptures.

I want to tell you all something......
I am SO thankful for the friends I've met on this PTO website.
Many have been keeping in touch with me and me with them every few days.
This means so much. Of course, we can ALL appreciate prayers offered up on
our behalf. I do! More than I can say!
I'd also like to share something with you wonderful prayer warriors:
I have 2 address books I've turned into PRAYER LIST BOOKS.
Initially, I typed up a list of inmates and families to pray for.
This list, actually, didn't hold up well. As I'd tug it in and out of my purse
throughout the day - plus update it every other evening or so - I kept having to
re-do it and reprint it.
THEN I began filling in an address book alphabetically by USER NAMES on this site. I included the inmate's first name, the parent's first name if one was provided PLUS any other important info. (how long in, how much time left to do, appx. court dates upcoming, cell friends first names needing prayer, etc.) I still keep this book up .... but I it TOO HEAVY to carry around daily. I wanted the info. on hand.... but a small enough version of it to fit in my purse without being heavy - for prayer ANY TIME - day or night. SO.....
I started a SECOND address book - - - - - - - an inexpensive, small book.
It's perfect! It's alphabetized it by inmate's FIRST NAMES instead of
USER NAMES..... and beside each inmate's first name, I put their Mother's name (or father's name), the STATE they're from, and the USER NAME on this site. That's all. It's PERFECT for prayer time! It makes it SO easy to pray for all the Jason's OR Chris's OR Steven's,,,,,, any time. When I add someone to one book I simply add them to the other at the same time, keeping important notes on hand.
I encourage you to think about doing this yourself as well.
This has been such a blessing for me. I feel like I know each of your sons (and a few daughters) and you personally although we've never met. I encourage EACH OF YOU to start a PRAYER LIST right away as well if you haven't already. God promises to HEAR our prayers and to ANSWER our prayers.
Can you imagine the impact on God's heart if we are faithful to each other day in and day out??? I can.... and it makes me SMILE R-E-A-L-L-Y B-I-G.

We told our Sunday School class today what we are going through. We had shared with a few over the last 3 years but not everyone. Our class is huge and there are many that we don't really "know". Well we "know" them now. We should have done this sooner. The class gathered around us with hands touching our shoulders and prayed. Afterwards, we were appraoched by a couple whose son had been in prison several years ago. We had never known! And would never had know if we hadn't unloaded our hearts today.

This prayer chain is so awesome!! I cant wait to tell my son Jonathan next time I see him that there are Mom's all over the country praying for him, Lucky and Andy! They are all due to be released within about 6 months of each other in late 2008, Jonathan being the last one out of the 3.

I have been thinking for a few years now about starting a ministry (a Christian non-profit 501(c)3 organization) of Mom's that both support each other, and re-parent young men as they are being released. So many re-offend within such a short time of their release because they have no family and no support system of any kind. I think they re-offend to go "home" - at least in prison they have "friends" a roof, and food. I know all of you know how "sacred" Mom's are to those boys, who better to help them successfully re-integrate back into society than a "mom"? A Ministry of Mom's might be a really good thing...

Any thoughts?

Hi all, My name is Theresa my son is Earl, He has been in prison for three years now and has 12 left to go. He was only 19 when he was sent away. I feel helpless and I miss my son very much. Please pray for us as we move forward for a new trial. I don't understand the justice system. How can they take a 19 year old and send him away for such a long time. In the last three years I can't tell you how many men my son has watched be carried away in body bags and laying in bed at night listening to men scream because they are being raped and beaten. I cry myself to sleep most nights, I don't know how to move on from this point. I have two other children and a grandchild on the way. I know God is real and I know he answers prayers. My son was raised in church and he is not a bad person. He made a mistake and for that he is in prison. I know they have to be punished but I do not believe this is the way to do it. I could understand 3-5 years for Robbery but 17 years with five running cuncurrent. I don't know. Pleas pray for us.

Hi, Theresa, and welcome. I just responded to your posts under another thread: Children in Prison (or something like that). I have added Earl and yourself to my prayer list. The prison your son is in sounds horrible. Seems something could be done about an inhumane place like that. My son is in a medium/max security penitentiary here in Iowa, and he's not mentioned anything like your son is subject to. Of course, my son just recently got there, so I'm sure there's lots going on that he might not be aware of yet.

Keep us updated on the new trial so we can keep it in our prayers also. I know there are so many things that happen that we can't understand, but take it day by day and keep trusting and hoping in the Lord. If it weren't for Him, I'd doubt I'd made it all these years.

tomorrow, barring a last minute continuance, is the trial for the termination of my son't parental rights. It has turned into something none of us wanted - a big nasty fught. But my son and my husband and I have taken the high road and will continue to do the same.

Hi all I haven't posted in awhile, my son Gary is having a rough time in jail, he was released in may from prison in Man and sent back to county jail a month later on a tech. violation I don't know when he will be sent back to prison he is on anti depressants and having some adverse effects on them they are thinking about sending him to a state hospital first, he has had all privelages taken and I haven't heard from him in several weeks and I am very concerned so please continue to pray for him, also my 19 yr old daughter needs our prays too, she has run into some legal troubles herself this year and every time I think she is going to make it she winds up making bad choices and losing everything she worked for, she just got a job today so please pray for her success. I'm depressed myself lately too, thinking what should I have done or what did I do that I shouldn't have that 2 of my kids have gotten themselves in trouble like this. I'm sure most of you have felt the same way, then I look at my other 3 kids and they haven't given me this kind of trouble but yet they suffer some of their siblings consequences because it takes me away from them, and it gets me down in the dumps...it sometimes seems like a never ending cycle for me. I'm going to keep on praying though and I know the more prays for our kids the better.

We have been in court for 2 days. The trial is continued until the attorneys and the judge can all agree on a date to finish. It has, so far, been grueling. I can't really read how it is going. There are many letters that should be evidence for my son that were lost by TDCJ. He put them in a packet for us to pick up in his property, just in case something like this would happen.

Jeremiah 29:11-12
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

Amen. Just read that verse this morning. I love God's Word!

Well, Carole, can't say i haven't been down like that myself....it's hard..i know...but thank God He is God...from reading the posts it seems most on this site have child incarcerated instead of man (husband) but the words of faith are still encouraging for me about me and my man as well.....carole i really encourage you to keep leaning on God as your Light b/c i definitely don't know how i would get through the things i have had to get through if it hadn't been for Him....sometimes it helps to just get in quiet place and open your Bible and listen to Him talk to you, esp. when your man (child) can't be there and it's hurting really bad b/c you are missing him so much....it's hard...but just keep leaning on God from day to day and He will get us through.

hi to all mom's, just a lil update with my son steven, well he's doing good, got himself a job, and a girlfriend, a girlfriend with 4 kids but i don't mind cuss he is so happy. i was a lil worry for a minute cuss he was hanging around with his cousin, and he takes lots of drugs. i caught him and told him to choose between his drugs or prison, that made him think, i still worry about him but i don't give up. anyway thank you all for your prayers. boy who said kids are easy when they grow up.

Just wanted to take a minute to say "Merry Christmas" to everyone. Didn't get to in the past few days- as planned - but want everybody to know I've been praying for all of you - both sons (and daughters) AND families.
I thank you, too, for your prayers recently. I FINALLY found out Friday afternoon that I have a KIDNEY STONE! You would think I'd be upset - but I am elated. I have suffered with much pain since SEPTEMBER this year - and we're just now finding out why. God bless you as you continue to pray for each other (and me). God IS in the blessing business! I'll be headed to the urologist in the morning.

:thumbsup: I'm new to this form, and how in the world I missed it I just couldn't tell you. But I am so very happy I found it, I have a son that's been in prison for 15 years now, but hopefully this summer he will be released. We have been praying & praying that his release will come true one day. I know it will & keep telling him that, but he is loseing faith after all the rejects in the past. He really needs lots of PRAYERS to restore his faith in God. I keep telling him that his release will come in Gods time not ours, because God knows what he has planned for him when he gets out. My son's name is Rick. Thank you Louise for telling me about this site. I will be praying for all these boys. I have learned that prayer is the only way to go. God tells us to be supportive to all those in prison as if we were in the cells with them. God Bless all the mother's children who are incarcerated. This is a great site!
