HI All,
Does anyone know which CA prisons are also medical facilities? I have a friend that has to have medical treatment but is in Chino right now and we are wondering where he might be sent.
Thanks!

Off the top of my head I can only think of 2 right now. There may be more but I can only think of these two:
- California Medical Facility (in Vacaville) CMF
- California Men's Colony (in San Luis Obispo) CMC

And Vacaville is for the most serious stuff. My friend transferred from the Mens Colony to Vacaville.

CIM Chino East Del Norte Unit is also considered a Medical Ward. Initially set up as a segregated HIV ward, it is now fully integrated with all types of Med Needs inmates. Several other prisons have a simlar set-up such as Avenal (WheelChair Friendly), Corcoran, (Acute Care), Patton State Hospital on the grounds of the California Rehabilitation Center, CA State Prison Sacramento (Psychiatric Services, Medical & Ad Seg Med Needs), CA State Prison Solano (Psychiatric Crisis Unit), Pelican Bay (Psychiatric SHU Unit), PVSP (Mental Healt Crisis Unit), SVSP (Severe Psychiatric Unit).
