I have almost confirmed my flights to your beautiful country in Aug and wondered if any of you are visiting Pelican Bay on the weekends below?

Also this may seem like a strange request so I will explain.
I’m hopefully marrying Colby in the SHU bay on the 8 or 9th of August depending of course if it’s authorised (our papers have been handed in)
My friend was supposed to be coming with me as my witness but unfortunately she has courses at that time for work and doesn’t think she will make it. I was wondering if anyone was around at this time to meet up as its sad enough not spending my wedding night with my husband but more importantly I just didn’t want to be alone at this time and would love to meet up with anyone on them weekends.

Almost confirmed for the weekends August 2nd & 3rd and 9th and 10th

Well, I finally found this Pelican Bay site (took me long enough!) What a God-send this website is! I have been gleaning as much info as possible from everyone's posts. Like, I am glad to find out that if you are traveling more than 300 miles for your visit, you can ask for both morning and afternoon visit. I think coming from Michigan qualifies!

Barb, when in July are you going up to Pelican Bay? I will be in California from June 28 to July 12, and I plan to try to get up to Pelican Bay the weekend of July 5-6. If you were going that weekend, I would LOVE to meet you. You have been a great help and source of information for me. And it is comforting talking to someone else with a connection there. I am just DYING at the moment, still waiting to hear from Max. I am afraid he won't really remember me, or want to write. And I really do want to visit him. That is, provided I get that paperwork to visit. I know that you are a very busy person, and about that form you said you would e-mail me, I was wondering, so that I don't have to put you out at all, can I just call Pelican Bay myself and ask for the paperwork to be sent to me, so that I can be a visitor? And do you know, what if they approve you to visit on a certain date, then for some reason he gets "locked down." Will they eliminate his visit for punishment - even if the person visiting is coming a very long way? I just have all these "what ifs" in my mind. Thanks for your help. And thanks for being willing to spend so much time on this website helping everyone else. You probably have tons of other things you could be doing in lovely California (I know I would if I lived there again!), and it is very loving and giving of you to spend your time here. We all thank you.

Hi honey I am so sorry I have been so long on the paper work for visiting but I will do it very soon. My son Steven is here right now and my computer was about one post away from crashing so he took it in tonight to PC Club and they fixed it. Oh, please, don't hurry on my account. I do not mean to rush you or anything. I was just about to shut down for the night myself, because it is 11pm here and I have to get up for work tomorrow. My head is already spinning from all the stuff I've read in this site tonight, and I am afraid I will never fall asleep!! So I am probably going to have to log off for now. I did have one more question, though. On my visit to California from June 28-July 12, I will be in Los Angeles area. Is it best to take a plane up to Crescent City, and get a ride from the hotel/motel? If so, are there some pretty good prices on flights from LAX or Ontario up to Crescent City (or, what is the closest airport to Crescent City?). I know that way back in 1987 I took a plane from Ontario to San Jose vicinity, and it only cost about $40 round trip. Are the prices still pretty good? Because I will have my two kids with me (ages 11 and 15), so I will need tickets for them, too. And can kids that age go in for a visit? Do you recommend it? They claim they'd like to go see what a prison is like. I guess that could be good or bad. It could reinforce the fact that they should obey the law and never end up there! I may or may not still be on here when you reply. I guess my eyes do feel rather sleepy. I have been up since about 3:30 this morning due to the SEVERE thunderstorms that tore through the Detroit area last night. Again, thanks for your help, Barb. You're an angel from God.

Wow you are going to have your hands full LOL. No the air flights are very high you better get online and look into it. The closest airport is Arcada or something like that I can't remember right now. If you have the time it might be better if you rented a car in SF and drove the rest of the why. You could also go out to Medford Or. and rent a car there. We have some time to check these thing out so just hang on honey. If you take your children you have to have permission for them to go in with you, you need to call the prison and check on that also. Love Barbara
