Inmate escapes from Custer County jail

CHALLIS -- Another Idaho inmate has escaped from a county jail. This time, it happened in central Idaho's Custer County.

Jail officials say Christopher John Baccelli escaped Sunday night from the jail in Challis by jamming a lock to the outside yard with a piece of cardboard.

Baccelli was being held on a warrant from California.

If he had waited until Monday morning, he would have been set free because his extradition papers have not arrived from that state.

Now, he's wanted for felony escape from a jail.

Idaho county jails dont seen to be all that severe these days. It wanst much more then a year or so ago when someone escaped another jail. Then recently a high risk inmate escaped the jail right here in town.

The stupid part with this recent one is had he not escaped he would have been free and clear. I bet he will be kicking himself over that mistake for quite some time
