Not sure what 'jail' when I get to the site but here is a link that may help...
http://www.lasd.org/lasd_services/custody-services/custody.html
If you are talking about the mens central jail, unfortunately they don't have a lot of information about the facility and programs...
Good luck and I am sure that someone will be along that has more information.

My hussband just got transferred from there. Every dorm is different, usually you will be in a bunk. Once a week you go outside. Wayside is nicer than LA. LA is very dirty. Visiting is Thursday-Sunday for 15 minutes. the lines outside are like 4-5 hours long. I used to go visit my husband everyday and it would take all day most of the time.
GOOD LUCK!!!

it depends on where you will be doing your time. But you will be given clothes to wear, & sometimes you can get a "fish pack" which consist of a toothbrush, & razor. You can buy items you need from canteen (store). 60 days is a short sentence so you wobn't be there long. 30-40 days max, on a 60 day sentence. Best thing to do is keep your eyes & ears open & your mouth shut till you know whats going on. A lot also depends on whaat race you are. L.A. county isn't as bad as it use to be, but it's no pic nic either.---------Ken

Men's central in LA...well, I've not been there personally...but I've gone to visit.
Conditions were at there worst when I visited. My ex was a trustee so he had it better than most...but the conditions for GP were sleeping sometimes 10 to a bunk that normally slept 2. Yes 10 to a bunk. There were TONS of rats...the guys were sleeping with them on the floors. The plumbing didn't work properly which caused back ups and the toilets flooded the floors that some of the guys stepped on. One roll of toilet paper per cell every two days.
If you're going into high profile (gang related crime) you're going to want to keep your mouth SHUT!
If you're going into GP, you'll be ok, just watch out for the guys who say they're your friend right off the bat. From what I was to understand, these are the guys that are lookin to jack as much from you as they can.
Phone calls are once a day...if you can get to a phone.
Like Ken said though, you'll be out in two shakes of a fist.

I WISH YOU THE BEST. MY HUSBAND WAS THERE TWO YEARS WHILE HIS TRIAL WENT THROUGH. YOU'LL BE OKAY LIKE EVERYONE SAID JUST KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT AND EARS AND EYES OPEN. UNTIL YOU FIGURE OUT THE ROUTINE. DUI'S ARE USUALLY OUT QUICK. PLUS RIGHT NOW THERE IS AVER CROWDING SO YOU MIGHT EVEN GET OUT SOONER THAN EXPECTED. IF YOUR DON'T HAVE FELONIES OR IT'S A SMALL SENTANCE YOU COULD GO HOME. YOU MIGHT EVEN GET LUCKY AND GO TO WAYSIDE. MUCH MORE LAID BACK. HIGH POWER IS STRICT WITH PRIVILAGES BUT IN GEN. POPULATION IT'S EASIER. YOU CAN USE THE PHONES AS LONG AS THEY ARE ON AND THEY ARE IN YOUR CELL. IF YOU NEED MORE INFO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PM ME. I KNOW A LOT OF THE BAILERS THERE. MADE SOME FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS.:)
