Its a success storie:) I haven't been on this website since my husbands release, 2 months now. Im loving getting to know him again. He's such a new and improved man (this far). My husbands alochol/drug addictions landed him a 19 month sentence, a marriage completely on the edge of divorce. Hearing," I promise I will stay sober this time" gets old quickly..very quickly. I have invested 8 years in this marriage now, kids, home, ect. A lot to just, "move on". The kids so happy to have him back.
Some reason prison seemed to break him, "rock bottom" as they say. He kept telling me "God has changed my life and giving me another chance". He claimed to be sober his entire prison term. Me very skeptial of course, but hopefull. The first week out he landed a Very good job, and working ever since. His out look on life is so positive. We get up every morning and have a short bible study before he goes off to work. The "program" he was doing in prison to help him stay sober, I have encouraged here at home as well. If it works, then don't stop now. I believe we both grew tremendously this last 19 months he was gone. Me, so much stronger, I can make it with out him. A huge accomplishment for me. And maybe a scarry thing for him. He knows he MUST keep himself on track, Im not interested in any less from him. He has alot to loose if he returns to his old ways. I have hope he will make it. He has 21 months sober now.:D A record for him. Im so proud of him, my prayers have been answered. And the blessings just dont stop!!!!
To all those ladys in waiting wondering if they ever change.....Ill update in a few more months, we need all the success stories we can get.
