For those of you/us that met your man while he was in, have you ever seen him in real clothes?? Either by pictures or during a time when he was released but then went back. I know I've only seen my man once in person with real clothes on. It's funny trying to imagine what he really looks like in clothes other than the normal prison outfits. It also makes it EXTREMELY hard to buy clothes for him when he's getting released. I don't know what his style is, so I am clueless!:confused:

I see my hubby in street clothes every time I visit. I've only seen him in his prison blues twice - once when he graduated from Custodial Maintenance and when we went before the parole board. ;)

I'm not buying much before he comes home.... I want to go shopping with him and let him make his own choices ;) :) :)

Yeah, I want him to be able to choose his own clothes, but I want a few outfits for him for right when he gets out. He gets out on a Monday and I won't be able to take him shopping until that weekend.
You are so lucky to be able to see him in real clothes, though! My man has to wear this rediculous white jumpsuit that says "Visitation" on the back. Not very flattering at all.

I have never seen my man in real clothing, but I have sent him clothes and he says he loves them. Just ask him want he likes and use this situation to your advantage and pick out some stuff you would think he would look good in. But you will be suprised by how good you will be at picking out things he will like. Just try to match it to his taste, style and personality. I am sure he will appreciate everything you get him.

Yes, I saw my hubby in "regular" clothes when he was in jury selection and his trial...he looked sooooo handsome in dress shirts and slacks, and suits :D. Some of the clothes he was able to get from another source, but some of the shirts, ties and one of his suits I bought for him, so even though it was only for a short while, it was wonderful to be able to see him in person in clothes I bought for him. :) Even though his trial was the hardest thing we've ever been through, remembering being there with him in the courtroom and him smiling and mouthing "I love you" to me on recesses, brings back sweet memories. :blush:

I've seen my husband in street clothes when he was out, but because we werent together and I wanst that into him I didnt pay attention and cant even begin to describe what he looked like in those clothes.

At the prison where he is now he wears scrubs, but they used to wear blue jeans and blue shirts. For the most part that is about as street as prison clothes get. The only thing that set his looks aside from anyone on the street verses prison is everyone else wore that same blue jean/blue shirt outfit

I have only seem him in real clothes in old pictures. I think I am only gonna worry about getting him a riding home outfit and then something to wear when we go meet his PO, other then that I think we can hold off on clothes shopping till the second week. :)

MMMMMM My man is so sexy in street clothes and he knows how to dress. His clothes that he had before he went in he gave away. He's gained weight so we'll be doing alot of shopping. We have money saved and invested so that when he gets out we will be pulling about 3 grand and going to the mall. That's going to be fun. No more prison blues..... I can't wait for that day.

i've seen my hubby in regular clothing both in pictures AND in the facility that we met and got together in. i can say i was like :eek: when i saw him with regular clothing on...it definitely takes some adjusting on the eyes (in a good way of course lol).

i really don't like the way he dresses himself...the style is ok but the brands are not. so we are doing some total revamping! he likes the brand name clothing that has words all over it...i like the brand names that you have to look at the tag to see what they are...so we're definitely going shopping TOGETHER when he comes home!

I've only seen him in 'real' clothes from way back when he was younger. I tease him all the time about how the fashions have changed in the 10 yrs he's been down. I've had to put his EOS clothes together as he gets out 3 weeks today and have had great fun doing so and teasing him because he is worried English fashions are too different to American ones!!!

Yes, I have seen my sweetheart in street clothes and he looks goregeous! Even in his khakis he looks goregous. I can't wait until he gets out. We are going shopping together. We both like to shop.

His neice got stood up for her Sr. prom and he went out got a tux and limo to match her dress and took her!
Then I have him in a red Florida shirt :drool: with a gotee :drool: and ear ring.. I still look at that man and think "would you just look at him!!!":love: :drool: He'll be 50 in March and has a six pack and the most beautiful blue eyes you ever seen and a aster that would make a saint :faint: !! sigh....

I've only seen one pic of him in street clothes...just normal...jeans, a white tee with a button down shirt over. Quite similar to the prison clothes he has to wear. Only in the pic I'm talking about, his button down was red plaid and his uniform is a denim button down.

I’ve seen my guy in both prison blues and blue jeans and a tee shirt, I like both versions. He told me he doesn’t like to send me pictures of himself in his blues, but like I told him I like a man in uniform;)

Not unless jumpsuits count lol! His style has changed a lot since he has been in jail, as have his values. He used to spend money on clothes with no concern of the cost. Now that he is giving up his former work habits he realizes that its not about what you wear but who you are.

I have never seen my man in regular clothes. In fact a funny thing, I just recently asked him in a letter how he dresses. He told me he's a fashion freak, dresses to impress, big pimpin' style, has to match. I thought that was the funniest thing I've ever heard. Big pimpin' style>>>>>>> making me laugh. :D

:D I have never seen my man in anything except the stripes in county and the Khaki he is required to wear at the visits. I do have a couple of shots of him without a shirt in his shorts, (those are my favorites). He has explained what he wears in the "free world" and its nice and casual, t-shirts, jeans, sweats, just my style too. We are made for each other.:thumbsup:

Great topic! I have never seen my friend in regular clothes, except for one time when I went to see him and his family at court. Other than that, all I remember is him wearing jumpsuit navy blues with lettering on the back. Because of that, I ask if he can get a picture with regular clothes on and not jail clothes, that is, if they let him. I don't like to picture him incarcerated, since that's all I remember seeing him as. I like to think of him without the jumpsuit as just being regular J. Sounds weird, I know...

I saw a picture of him when he was a child in 'street clothes' but nothing since. Every picture I have he is wearing his government issued rags. I would love just to see him in his shorts and white t-shirt. :blush:

this is an interesting post. considering, i had to think about it. i have never seen my man in street clothes, except that in one of his pictures from when he first went in in the ealry 90s, he has on plain clothes, with some of his homies, which i thought was weird considering they were in prison. anyway, its funny to think about it cuz he has been in for over 15 years, and even though i know he is prety hip, thinking about the clothes he was wearing back then is funny cuz it was clearly the 80s fashion. of course, its about time that that stuff comes back anyway, so whenever he gets out, he will be able to adapt surely, eithe cuzz he's pretty fashionable and sexy to me in anything, or because he used to wear those threads anyway. lol. im crackin up at this thread.
