Hello from Paris, France! I have a penpal in Polunsky unit Death row that I will visit for the first time this end of summer (around end of september). I only have an experience with the California death row where I do also have a penpal that I visited the past three years. I'd like to know if the guards are harsch with the visitors or not, because strangely I was very surprised by the CA penitentiary guards... Thanks in advance for any information. Catherine

The guards at Polunsky that do visits are actually quite nice. You wont have anything to worry about :)

Thanks Kyla, because the incarceration system in France is still based on punishment for inmates, their families and their friends... so, I was just wondering. Have a good day.

I'm up there practically every week, all the visitation guards are sweethearts, so nice and friendly; all the guys I visit like them. There however are a few that make me so mad but I hardly ever see them.

The COs who run the visitation at Polunsky are totally awesome! That has been my experience anyway, and I go nearly every week. Some are more friendly than others, but they're all friendly and very helpful!

The visitation guards at Polunsky are wonderful!

I find that because I am naturally polite and patient I am always treated well.
However, if you do misbehave or break the rules - everything changes; I have seen that happen to other people on a few occasions.
Just listen to the instructions you are given and everything will be great.

I just got back from my first visit there (it was amazing by the way :) ) and they all seemed wonderful. I was totally freaking out over the whole thing but they were great.
