It seems that I am always asking questions about this or that. For the most part they are pretty basic questions such as what is the food really like in Idaho prisons, does the high population cause a lot of drama with the inmates, how is it determinded what inmates are housed where and so on.
My questions have started me thinking and made me wonder what kind of questions other have. What things have you always wondered about, but never got an answer for

Tanya, I have a question :D
Do I need to re-apply for visitation after 6 months? I once heard some girls in chat saying they need to re-apply every 6 months but I don't know if this applies to IDOC. :o

In Idaho its once a year. You need to keep track of when you first applied and apply in advance when your year is coming back around.
This may sound silly and I would never ask because they would probably think I was nuts for wondering about such odd things, but
Most of the facilities have blue jeans and blue shirts. For obvious reasons visitors couldnt wear any "blue" jeans. A while back the private prison changed over to dark green scrubs. The policy still says you cant wear blue jeans, but says nothing about green clothing or specificly scrubs of any kind. I do understand why they didnt want inmates and visitors wearing the same type clothing, but when the type of clothing for inmates changed why didnt the visitor type change

Um, duh, it's Idaho! :D They've always been a bit behind the times... and I like it that way usually. I'll bet if someone showed up in green scrubs they'd do some rule changing fast! Anyone wanna join me in a "scrub day"?

There is no way to get your visiting approved until she has actually been processed into the facility. I doubt very seriously you will be able to see her by Thanksgiving.
My advise to you is print a application rather then wait for her to send you one. Have it filled out and ready to go so as soon as she is processed and sent to the facility where she will do the rider you can send in your application at that point and time.
Keep in mind that once she leaves the jail she will first go to the womans prison before being sent to Kuna where she will do her rider. I dont know how long the woman are in RDU, but I know the men are in RDU for about 4 weeks before being sent to do their rider. Your friend will need to ask them when she is in RDU if you can send in your visiting application then or if you have to wait until she is processed and moved. I think that her visitors can go ahead and submit as soon as she gets to RDU and the approved visiting information will move with her to the rider facility
