Just curious - Do prisons have classes like art classes for their prisoners? I think such classes could not only teach skill but be theraputic. If their are art classes - what are they like?

Art classes would definitely make for a good creative outlet. Then maybe they can sell some of their finished products to help pay for their toiletries and canteen items, shoes, etc.

I'm sure they don't have them in all institutions but my husband actually teaches art classes from time to time. Since very little talent comes through he doesn't really enjoy it much. On most occasions it ends up being a paint by numbers class. Have you ever checked out prisonart.org? A lot of nice things on there.
