How long is this dang lockdown going to last??? I know the first time they were let out on the yard four guys got into a fight but as far as I know nothing happened this last time.... I called a couple of weeks ago (after the fight on the yard) and they said "A couple of weeks"... I called last week they said "Another couple of weeks".... I called today and they said "It's gonna be a while"!!! WHat the heck!!!! This sucks. My husband said they were going to start letting people off by age and building but they haven't started doing that yet either. I wish this stuff would be over so we could go visit our men......

Hi,
My husband is at Old folsom and has been on LD since 5/16/2005. I found out in the lock down forum that it my last through the summer.
He gets out on 8/7/05 and I haven't seen him for over two months. I was hoping that they would be out of LD before I picked him up.
I will call again this weekend and the weekend there after. At least tell the middle of July.
If you here anything different please let me know.

I just got a letter from my husband.... they let a few buildings off lockdown and went out to yard. Some blacks and whites got into another fight so it might be awhile.

It was a rumor going around that any hispanics were involved - so far that hasn't happened. There was apparently an incedent a couple of weeks ago where some blacks and whites were fighting and somthing went flying and hit a Southerner - it was accidental apologies were made and no one else got involved. As far as what happened, I guess they got off lockdown shortly after some blacks and a whites got into it and they stabbed the white with a sharpened broom handle. I think there was another incident but am not sure. Yes, unfortunately it looks like this lockdown will last for quite sometime. At the present time word has it that there is alot of resentment between certain blacks and certain whites and it seems as if once they DO get off lockdown, there may be more incidents. At least blacks and whites are getting family visits now :) I saw several coming back in through visiting on Sunday - Southerners & Others do not get family visits when were on lockdown :( it seems that everyone should - we all know that it's only a handful of people who are involved in these incidents, but everyone suffers. My heart and my prayers go out to those on lockdown right now and the families who suffer along with them. I know how it feels, and it's miserable. I hope that some kind of agreement can be reached in this situation and once they come off lockdown, they stay off. For the record, I hate the way were all programmed to categorize everyone as "blacks" "whites" "southerners" and "others" as if our loved ones deserve to be stereotyped in that manner. Were talking about our loved ones - not apples and oranges. And I know that 90% of everyone on lockdown, could be taken off and nothing would happen. But that's just the way it is. God bless you all and your loved ones. Hang in there - if your loved one is on lockdown, now is a good time to write, send magazine subscriptions, books (paperback, sent from publisher), pictures, postcards etc. etc. etc. Imagine spending your day locked in your closet (except they do get to shower, eat ... usually) They need your love and support now more than ever, and to know that they won't ever be forgotten.
