CID- Correctional Institution Division (something to that effect) Means he isn't in a private facility would be my guess.

Division Overview

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice created the Correctional Institutions Division (CID) in September of 2003 through a merger of the Institutional Division, Operations Division, Private Facilities Division and the State Jail Division.

The Correctional Institutions Division (CI Division) is responsible for the confinement of adult felony and State Jail felony offenders who are sentenced to prison. The division oversees State Prison facilities, pre-release facilities, psychiatric facilities, a Mentally Retarded Offender Program facility, medical facilities, transfer facilities, State Jail facilities, and substance abuse facilities (SAFP). There are expansion cellblock facilities, additional medical facilities, boot camps, and work camps co-located with several of the facilities mentioned above. The division is also responsible for support operations such as Classification and Records, Correctional Training and Staff Development, Offender Transportation, and Food Service and Laundry Service, and administering/monitoring privately operated facilities. There were approximately 18,000 offenders in privately operated facilities monitored by the CI Division during FY 2003.

The first Texas prison, the Huntsville “Walls” Unit, was constructed in 1849 and opened with three inmates. Today, facilities operated by the Correctional Institutions Division vary in the number and types of offenders housed, physical design, and services provided. All of the facilities operated by the CID are secure facilities (http://www.tdcj.state.tx.us/cid/cid_prison_jail_mgt.htm#Secure), with perimeter fences, equipment, and appropriate staffing to ensure public safety. All of the units are managed with staff and offender safety as a priority.

Since he's at Polunsky could it also mean he's Gen Pop instead of Death Row? Just wondering.
