Hello! Glad to participate, great site. Yet, I can't find a long post I made about a month ago, and ergo, can't find out if people replied. Is there any way I can find all of my posts? Was it removed? Also, when I'm first posting, there is no place to tick to get notification of enmail replies, yet, there is when I edit the message; why is this?

Reality - after you make a new post, or even if you just want to be emailed when someone makes a post in any forum, there is a link at the bottom of the page and it says Subscribe to this thread (just right below the post reply box), just click on that and you should be getting email notifiactions. Hope this was helpful!

Reality, if you want to search for all the posts that you have made, all you need to do is click on the "search" button at the bottom of any post you have made. There is one for every person actually. When you click on that search button under your post, it will bring up a list of all your posts.

I guess we need to Ed-U-kate toe on this. A sex defender is one who promotes the absolute FREE rights of having sex.

Without them, the government would pass laws to control that activity under it's guilde lines of when, how and where. Most likely, those involved in sex, would have to punch a time clock to see if the activity went into overtime, a no-no by government standards.

Now, aren't you glad these "sex defenders" are hard at work?

I tried to get a friend to come here who is on AOL. I told him to go to www.prisontalkonline.com. He said he is limited to the number of letters he can type in. Just thought you might like to know that certain people may not know about or use this site. Any AOL users like to comment? I told him to go to google, do a search, then click on the icon. Hope that works.

I am on AOL and I have never had a problem with logining on to this sight or limited letters!

I did a boo-boo. I posted in the wrong forum. I thought I was in Iowa (no, not Kansas :)) and wanted to get another thread going in our forum. We Iowans are working at getting it off the floor. Anyway, I actually posted it in the "Prison Profile" forum.

At the risk of sounding really stupid........I don't know what a 'thread' is or what 'sticky' means, and I'm sure I don't put things in their proper catagory all the time. I hope no one takes offence. I'm trying to get it right.

A thread is a message thread (the group of messages per subject in each forum). A "sticky" is a message thread that stays "stuck" at the top of each's forum's listing of messages...

I switched browsers and machines-I had shredded all cookies a bit ago when I experienced problems in the pet gallery.

I have a friend who NEEDS to belong to PTO but she is having trouble getting registered. She has asked me to help get her registered. She got a message that another user had her name and that is really impossible and then fatal error messages. How can I help her. She sent me via email the info to register her but I do not know how to register her from my computer. I do not want to mess up my PTO link. It works too good for me. Any advice appreciated. I think she is trying to rgeister maybe with too long of a user name is all I can think of. SHe is having a real hard time. She has to tell her Husband ON THE PHONE TODAY that his father has passed away. So she may just be real stressed. THANKS..."I-CARE"

Why not try to set her account up for her from your machine?
Occasionally, and for a plethera of reasons, a certain IP address is "blocked" etc. and you CANNOT do whatever from your machine.
If the name you want is already "taken" you just must pick another name. No messageboard system permits more than one person to have the identical user name. Just switch from say "Sue" to "OHIO_SUE" or "S_U_E" or "SUE1976" or whatever...
If you are not receiving a confirmation message in your EMAIL :

Check your SPAM FOLDER
Try signing up from a different computer
Plug in your dial-up modem if you are using DSL and try from there
Open a YAHOO free mail account and use that for signup(Check it's SPAM folder!)
Have a friend sign you up from their machine


If you have trouble OTHER THAN WITH A NAME YOU SELECTED BEING TAKEN OR YOUR CONFIRMATION EMAIL:

SWITCH BROWSERS TO INTERNET EXPLORER
Clear your Cache (from top menu/TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/GENERAL (tab)/TEMPORARY INTERNET FILES...DELETE FILES(if you delete all offline content you delete your "cookies" which might store stuff like automatic logon
Try Again
If not resolved go back to INTERNET EXPLORER top menu/TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY SETTINGS and set to MEDIUM
Try Again


Basically there are some issues here that the sysop will eventually fix(FEDX) (With help from here http://www.vbulletin.com/faq.php and perhaps a coder ) but for now just be patient and work around them!

Can you please tell me why the emails you send to me go to other computer. My brother in-law said that some of them were on his computer and also my moms computer?

I haven't posted to this site for a very long time so I don't know how to answer your question. My son passed away last Dec 7th. I still get on sometimes and see what the other moms and dads are saying but I have been too depressed to either post or unsubscribe. It's weird but sometimes I feel less lonely when I read the postings here.

Hi Brandi,
Go up to "Quick Links" and then to "Edit options" and scroll down to "Thread display options" and set the thread display mode to Linear- Newest First.
Let me know if that works :)

Glad you got it :)
If you want a certain color/font/size, you have to set it each time. There isn't a way to change it so it's default.

Unfortunately, you will either have to contact the sysop (system operator) at admin@prisontalk.com
or
Create yourself a brand new account and then NOTIFY the sysop that you have done so so he/she can "merge" the two accounts so you get credit for all you have posted to date and delete the "UN-name"

The sysop will have to INCREASE the standard number of characters permitted in a username (which has already been done...the default is ten characters) but the instructions are here for the sysop

AND

You might have to CLEAR YOUR "COOKIES" to create a second user account on your computer. Here is a Internet Explorer "how to" if you do not know how to clear them (however you will delete the HISTORY of the pages you have visited using this method)

Unfortunately, accounts aren't deleted. Think how messy things could get if your posts were taken out of all of the threads you've participated in!!

If you have a problem, you can PM me or email admin@prisontalk.com and we can see if there is something we can do. And you account can be closed, but your posts will remain on the boards...

If you scroll down the Forum Index (http://prisontalk.com/forums/index.php), you'll surely find a forum that is relevant to your interests and concerns. Click on the forum title to enter the forum , then click on a thread title to read that thread. Reply by either typing your reply into the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the thread or by clicking on the "Post Reply" button just above the "Quick Reply" box, then click "Post Reply" when you've finished typing.
To create a new thread, look at the top of the thread list in any forum for a button marked "New Thread", click on that and it will open a window where you can give your thread a title and type up what you want to say or ask. When you are done, click near the bottom where it says "Submit New Thread" and your thread will be posted.
If you ever have trouble finding a post you made, go to the bottom of the main index, find your name in the list of members online, and click on your name. This will take you to your profile. Then choose "Find all posts by____" and you'll get a list of all of your posts/threads.
Lastly, for now, if you ever get a message saying that your post or thread has been moved, all you have to do is click on the thread title within that message and you'll go right to the new location of your thread or post

I do not know about PTO, i want to become in that forum.
