I need some help in finding the right house. Any tips?

How long did it take you to find the right house?

Whats making it so hard is trying to find something in the same school district we are in now. I refuse to change the boys schools. We live in the most sought out district. I have only been hunting for a few weeks but dang!!! I am tired of looking.

Ah yes, the house search, and to think that's the easy part of buying a house. Have you maybe thought about finding by owner websites to your area? Realtor.com. Asking people at your church, work place, word of mouth travels better than any newspaper ad.

When I was looking for my home............I did all the searching myself. I picked up local newspapers for the area I was interested in and found my home that way. My house was not listed on the internet or in the major newspapers. Believe it or not I brought the 1st house I looked at. I looked at others for a couple of weeks but ultmately ended up with this house.

Homebuying is all about patience.........And by the way, most people dont began putting their houses on the market until early spring, around the end of Feb. So you may need hold off looking until then.

Hope this helps.

As a former REALTOR, I have sent letters to everyone in a particular neighborhood telling them I have a buyer if they are thinking about selling. Almost always, I would get a phone call from someone who had been thinking about selling.
