Hello everyone!! :) I just thought I'd start a thread to see how everyone is doing in our Arizona forum since it's been a little quiet lately. How did everyone's visits go this weekend? I went to see my husband today and we had a great day. :) If you weren't able to visit this weekend, when is the next time you will be visiting? Well, I hope everyone is doing well. I'm waiting on my visitation paperwork to get approved. I hope it's soon. I haven't talked to him for over a month. As soon as I hear, I'm off to Douglas.

Hi Kristi! Thanks for checking in with us. :) How long ago did you submit your paperwork for his list? Depending on the prison, but it usually takes 3-4 weeks. Douglas is a pretty good place to visit-my husband was there several years ago. I hope you get to visit soon! Keep us updated. :)

No visit for me as to distance...
as well as the move ... they put us on hold for a date until the move.. so I will visit approx 21 days after the move LOL....

but I spent the weekend working which I love to do.. and using my new drink blender to make soy, yogurt fruit smoothies...
now I have more work to do ... it is all good for me..
oh wait I did get to talk to my sweetie ..

I am wondering if anyone has loved ones in Newton, TX. I keep thinking my pal is going to be sent back any time but I think he wants to stay there. So I wasn't able to visit him when I went to 4 Corners a couple of weeks ago but I did find a picture I hadn't seen of his father who is a Navajo Code Talker. Went to Canyon de Chelly and had a Navajo lady who used to live in the Canyon give us a great tour. Hated to come back to Colorado.

Hi Chintah, one of my friends' husband is in Newton and has been trying to come back for awhile, but has had no luck yet. And my friend called Central Office the other day and was told that they are putting all moves back to AZ on hold for now because of the moved going in in AZ. That's a bummer that you weren't able to visit your pal on your trip. :( Sounds like your trip to Canyon de Chelly was nice--it's a beautiful place. That's awesome that your pal's dad is a Navajo code talker. Did you see on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that they did a segment on the code talkers when they were building a home for the Piestewa's? I thought that was neat, because the Code talkers really haven't gotten the thanks they deserve.

I was sick all weekend and still have the sinus infection and ear infection. YUCK!

If you get to see your loved one more than 3 or 4 times a year, count your blessings. Actually, just count your blessings. We are all lucky we have someone to love.

In July I am planning on going out of state for 2-3 weeks so right now ever minute is precious cause i wont see him for like 2 maybe 3 weekends:( and then in august is our ONE YEAR anniversary cant believe it

NJ~ Hope your feeling better...it seems this year has been really bad for the sinus infections and ear infections...I've had to battle that a few times this year. I'm glad you got to talk with your son.

Chintath~That is so cool....One day he will be transferred back...it's just hard to say when...I know we've talked about this before...but as long as he still likes it, then we have to be happy about that. Hopefully you can visit soon.

Aw NJ, I dont know if they are locked down or not but I know someone will respond soon. Its so stressful, we all know that. Have faith hun and be positive, the phones in Winslow break down alot and they dont always get fixed right away, as the phone tech has to travel from Flagstaff. God is in control, remember that! :yes:

Good morning everyone!! NJtexas, My husband is in Winslow and he did call last night, but he called late. Unfortunately, Winslow phones break often so maybe the phones were broke where your son is? Or maybe they wouldn't give them calls for whatever reason. We've had times where my husband hasn't been able to call too, so I understand how you are feeling. Hopefully you'll hear from him soon!

Thursday is my sons 14th Birthday and then Friday I will be taking him to Dallas to spend the weekend with his dad. Saturday I will be taking my daughter to Six Flags Fiesta Texas and other than that I will be relaxing and preparing for another work week. Hope everyone is doing well!

I drove to Florence to see my man only to be told that they had moved him and I had missed his visit time. With the hours I work it will be at least a month :angry: before I get to go again

My son was released in May but I still come to the Arizona forum as I still have a very close friend in Florence who I hope to be able to visit in August.....I also have a few pen pals so I like to keep up on what's happening in the Arizona forum........hope everyone is doing great and visiting/ writing as much as then can.......our loved ones need us....Have a great week/weekend everyone...;)

Me I am kind of new here came across this post. Been having a hard time of things lately. Everyone sounds so happy. I am usually happy. But here lately things have been so hard. All I have is my kids no one to really turn to it is really difficult.I hope I will feel better after my trip to Indiana to see my mom and sisters. My guy thinks it will help make me feel better. If I only I could see him it has been awhile have no way to see him. And the time is going by so slow. Well that is enough of that.

My day was pretty good thanks! Ya know, little miss Maggie had surgery not to long ago and they gave her one of those big satellite lookin things that you put around their neck! LOL Sad thing is she liked it and kept it on, so she sported her sunglasses with it as well! Hopefully she's healing well and there won't be a need for that!

Dallas is 4 hours away...the park is here in SA, but I have to take my son up to visit with his dad.

How's your son doing? I wrote him a couple of letters and never heard back after the first one--he was probably getting ready for release. I am glad he's out and hope he's doing well.

Hope you get to meet that pal. It's so much fun to finally meet someone. I want to visit mine and wish he'd transfer back to AZ from Newton. But I know Newton is a better place for him now. Just so darn expensive to travel there since it's in the middle of nowhere so hope your pal won't be transferred. I have to spend planefare to see my mom in KY who is dying first.

I am sorry that I have to post this "downer" but I am so depressed and no one else can seem to have much sympathy. I just found out tonight that my husband was shipped to Texas. The part that really upsets me is that I called the visitation office this morning to verify that he is there and would remain there for tomorrow's visit and they said "yes". If he was already in Texas, that means he wasn't there when I called. What a wonderful father's day present. This really bites!!! I sort of knew this was coming so I already booked passage on the shuttle to Pecos for August, but I have never went so long without seeing him. I just don't know how often I will be able to afford to visit. Just needed to share with others who understand.

aw Glowbug, Im so sorry! :( I know that so many others have dealt with this and are still dealing with it. Ots bad enough having them in prison at all, and especially when they are so far away that you cant visit often. I know that visits are everything and keep us going strong.

I will pray for you that God will make a way for your family to be together as often as possible.

On a positive note, we have heard great things about the out of state facilities! That the staff is coureous and the living conditions are so much better than ADC.

If it werent such a hardship on families, I think alot of guys would opt to do their time there. Please keep us posted okay? God bless. :) ~Aimee

hey everyone in Az! how is everyone? good i hope! i am doing great, my hubby is sick right now though, if anyone minds saying a prayer for him, we sure could use it. ;) he's pretty miserable.

what does everyone have planned for the 4th? i have a full day visit on Sunday and a half day on Monday, then its off to Palm Springs for me! :dance: :yay: :yes:

Things are good on my end...hoping to see my husband at the end of July...just had to put alot of money into the car, so hopefully the finances will allow me to see him( I really need a visit)

Plans for the 4th....going to the parade and then will watch the fireworks at the park and the base.
