I was really hoping they would find her alive but didn't think the odds were in favor of this. I was just watching Fox News and they have announced that one of the three teens last with her has led investigators to her body. I don't see it listed on the news sites yet but I am sure it will follow soon.

How very sad....you always hope that in a situation like this that there will be a positive outcome and unfortunatley that is usually never the case.

I wonder if the "security" guards that have been arrested actually had anything to do with it. I guess we will find out as this shakes out.

Holloway Investigation At 'Very Crucial' Point

POSTED: 9:38 am EDT June 10, 2005
UPDATED: 1:46 pm EDT June 11, 2005

ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Prosecutors in Aruba said Saturday the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway is at a "very crucial" point.

However, they're refusing to comment on reports that one man in custody said "something bad happened" to the Alabama teenager.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Editor's Note: The Associated Press initially reported that the suspect admitted to killing Natalee Holloway. AP later revised its story to indicate that the man said "something bad" happened to her.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An arrest early Saturday morning wasn't related to Holloway's disappearance, authorities said.

The three men arrested by Aruban police early Thursday morning had been designated "persons of interest" in the case and were detained soon after Natalee Holloway's disappearance. Police officials questioned the trio, and then released them back to their families.

A judge will decide Saturday whether police have sufficient grounds to continue holding them.

Aruban police arrested two other men earlier this week, but had declined to state the specific reasons for the arrests or whether there was a connection to the three initial "persons of interest."

During Thursday's press conference, Caren Jassen, spokeswoman for the Aruba Attorney General's Office, told reporters the three men had not been arrested earlier due to "tactical reasons." She also denied allegations the three had been given preferential treatment due to their families' positions on the island.

Missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway.

The three young men acknowledged partying with Holloway, 18, before she went missing. According to law enforcement sources, they told police that a man dressed in a security uniform approached her as they dropped her off at her hotel at about 2 a.m.

Two of the suspects, identified as Surinamese brothers Satish and Deepak Kaploe, told police Holloway had been drinking and fell down as she got of the car in front of the hotel.

The source said when the third suspect, Dutch citizen Joran Andreas Petrus Van Der Sloot, tried to help her, she refused, saying, "I can stand on my own."

The Surinamese brothers told police that a black man dressed in a black security uniform and carrying a Walkie-Talkie went up to Holloway, seemingly to offer his assistance. The suspects said they then drove off and did not see Holloway again.

Holloway was last seen at the end of a high school trip. She joined more than 100 classmates and seven adult chaperones on a five-day excursion to the island. Holloway never showed up for the group's return flight.

Aruba's prime minister said the whole island is in a state of "shock and disbelief." He said his government is working closely with U.S. authorities to try to find out what happened to Holloway. He said it's become Aruba's No. 1 priority.

I just watched an interview with the prime minister on some cable news network and he said he expected the case to be solved by tomorrow. When pressed as to why he thought that he didnt really give much of an answer just that it is the #1 priority! Hmmmmm

Headline for this thread is not correct. Fox didn't say her body had been found! An earlier misstatement said that one of the boys would lead authorities to the place where she'd been (at the beach, I think) - but it did not say they had her body!!
Search is still an ongoing thing....

There has been no body found - one of the guys in custody said that "something bad" happened and that's all that's been reported.

This really has hit home for me - this has really hit home. Although I've never met Natalee, I do know her father. He lives in my hometown and we used to work for the same company - not at the same location - we are not friends so to speak, but we do speak when we run into each other. Please, everyone, keep this family and Natalee in your prayers!

Actually, this was said on Fox News right before I typed it, however it was not correct, fortunately.

This is such a sad story. I can't imagine being left behind... I'm sure she's dead, though. :(

I don't know how anyone knows what's going on. I'm pretty sure she's dead and i have been for a while, although i pray that i'm wrong. The authorities in Aruba can evidently purposely lie to the media when they feel like it and that makes it hard to know what's up. I also heard that they found the body (FOX got it from the AP) and then they come back and said that no one even confessed as claimed before. Just that one of "the three" had said "something bad happened to her." They can't get their story straight and i've never appreciated our own media as much as i do right now. At least American media TRY to get it right.

Kat, you know my prayers are going out to her and her family. I am sure since you know her father that this has hit close to home....Who would have ever thought something like this could happen.
