Does anyone have any stories about sucessfully inducing their own labor? Ive heard of almost everything from Castor Oil to Walking a TON.....but has anyone sucessfully done any of these???

When I did my rotation in L & D, I found that some women swore by certain "tricks." Yes, castor oil worked for quite a few.
I worked with one lady who tried everything: walking, car rides over bumpy roads, etc. The only thing that worked was sex. It worked with all 3 of her pregnancies.

thats about the one thing everyone tells me to do but its kind of hard when my fiance is in prison.....i wish i could do that and he could be with me....thanks for the input!

I tried castor oil when my son was a week late - it didn't work; I spent a whole morning puking - but my bowels were spotless!

Sex works because of the hormones in the semen which stimulate the cervix.

One of my friends used to have a really spicy curry or chilli and that always worked for her.
My best strategy is to plan something really nice like a pedicure, shopping spree or a trip to the movies - guaranteed to set you off!! :D
And if it doesn't you've had a lovely time anyway!!
