I NEED information before 6/15/05, on what to expect during a 6 month stay at the Twin Towers/Mens Central Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. Please include any "newbie" pitfalls someone not used to incarceration might need to avoid. THANKS SO MUCH!! 245 (A) (1)

It's County...dirtyand over crowded. My son was there and it took him 6 days to be processed and he spent those days sleeping on the ground.
If your doing only 6 months and it's your first time, they'll probably send you to one of the Sheriff's Stations or over to Wayside to work.

Don't be TOO friendly with anyone, don't "borrow" or get in debt to
anyone, don't drink the water(LOL) (sorry), don't listen to what
another inmate says over a CO's directions, if you see something you
wish you had'nt, if asked, pretend that you're wish came true. Don't
offer any CO's anymore info re: anything, than absolutely required
from you. Try not to get in the middle of any confrontations between
other inmates. Yeah, been there done that! Hope some of this
madness helps.

I'm not sure if it's still like this:shrug: but my husband (boyfriend at the time) was sentenced to 6 months in a plea bargain in October/November 2003. His surrender date was November 17, 2003...he was released on November 25, 2003 with 3 years probation (his first arrest).
But from what he says, county is grimy, overcrowded, re-circulated air...hopefully you'll be able to go to Wayside!

don't even stress a six month sentence...you'll be out in a week or so.
