He would have to submit the writ into the supreme court, as he made a deal with the DA in state. Unfortunetly, it may be harder to win, as he did that deal with the district attorneys office. If he had won that sentence by jury, it would be easier to challenge, as he could challenge the state on his sentence.

It takes alot of work to write a writ. He needs to put down why his charges should be reduced from sentencing, and put case law in to follow, like a similar case to his, and how people got lesser sentences, to challenge the court. Perhaps there is a law library where he is at now, and he can research it himself. Good Luck !!

I would recommend a book that can be found on Amazon or prisonerlaw.com and is called The Prisoner's Guide To Survival. I have a friend who is incarcerated and also happens to be a "jailhouse lawyer". I sent him this book and he was very impressed. According to him, it has lots of info on preparing a writ. It may be worth a look anyway!
