I just wanted to share my joy with you all that I got a response back within a week and a half after writing my new friend Justen. I hope that I can be there for him and help him thru all this....... he is only 21!!!! I hope to arrange some sort of network with ppl that are interested in seeing that they have what they need for supplies.... money on the books and nonsuch so that they can keep on reaching out........ does anyone know if any such program already exists?

also I am hoping to get a donation in to KDOL from me for Richard- hope work goes well this weekend!

Well Billie I am happy to hear that you got an answers so quick. I am sure just having you there for him means alot to me.

I don't know of any program like you are talking about. I think the problem is the people who actually care if they have money stamps books, etc already have several penpals and people they reach out to or they have loved ones on the row.
Which with both usually means they don't have the extra cash.

But it would be nice to have such a program. I know there are a couple org. that do seeks donations for specific things, like the fan project for Texas for the ones who can't afford one and things like that.

Billie , Im so glad you heard back from your new friend so quick! I dont know of any organization either. I hope you and your friend have a long lasting friendship, these guys need friends more so than others I think.

There are organisations out there, at least here in Europe. I belong to one, to make it easier for me to help. But I think there can't be enough.
