I sent in my app. to visit my husband in April. He is reception at Delano...he hasn't heard anything nor have I.....I called the visiting dept. and she said I need to take the approval letter with me as proof to visiting. Does anyone know if this is true? According to all the recordings it just says your approval has to be on file. Is there any way I can find out if I'm on file because my husband isn't getting a response from the visiting dept. and he hasn't even been getting my mail for weeks...and I wanted to visit this weekend. Can anyone help me??? I feel like we're lost in the system!!!!

It took six months before I was approved for visiting in Salinas. My friend said he appealed the delay and I called. As soon as I called they sent him a paper saying I was approved. He sent it to me and told me to bring it "just in case." I didn't need it, but I would bring it for the reason my friend stated. I would also keep calling as much as possible asking the status of your visitation request. Good luck!

Thanks! I'll call again tomorrow and ask about the status. She did tell me all the requests from April were completed already. Hopefully I'll get some answers tomorrow!

Got the status. I was approved, howver, I'm not allowed to see him at all cause he is in for spousal abuse. Is there any way to appeal this?

I'm sorry to hear that you can't visit. If you were the one that was abused then I believe you need to go back through the courts because there is probably a protective order in place.
If you want to PM me more details I'll see what I can find out for you!
