April 24
11:34 am ? T and SoulJA both jacked the dayrooms about 9:30 because
#1.They kept Soulja on restriction after they let everyone else off on the 8th of April.
#2. They wrote T and me up for major cases even though the offense was minor
#3. The breakfasts have been skimpy and cold.

Okay T was in E dayroom. They suited up a team, Officer Michaels, Jordon, White, Jackson and that dirty punk Beard. Officer Cooley on camera, Sgt. Griffin running the team, Lt. Shitty Roach, lying ass, supervising. They gassed him once, waited 6 minutes, gassed him again and ran in right away. He said the only thing dirty they done was Beard put the shackles on to where they were cutting off the circulation. They carry him back to his cell, lay him down, break the key in the shackles. So now they have to pick him up, bring him back out of his cell, stand him against the wall and wait 20 minutes for bolt cutters. Bolt cutters arrive, they put him back in his cell, lay him down, but the shackles are on him so tight they cannot put the cutters on them. So 40 minutes later after finally cutting them and going to get pliers, they exit his cell. Had they just taken them off while kneeling down all this would never have taken place. Soulja's turn: The team leaves, comes back 15 minutes later. Two orders, spray, Soulja comes out.

They have had the chow cart in here since 4:45, so it's now 12:24pm and I'm sure everything will be cold and dried out.

3:10 pm ? Big Rob from E Section has jacked the outside recreation yard. They sprayed him but it wasn't effective because of the wind, so they are waiting on something, we're not sure what. Sgt. Griggs told him if your going to stay down, stay down all the way, don't waste my time. I'll let you know what happens. I'll be able to see him when they bring him in.

4:08 pm ? They just brought him in. the whole left side of his face was swollen. He said as he went by, they slammed his face into the concrete. He said he overheard Griggs tell Officer Baker to bust him up. Team was leadman Baker, #2 McIntire, #3 Lam, #4 Davenport, #5 ?.., camera was Officer Hawthorn, Sgt. Griggs running the team, Lt. Bolton supervising. I heard a lot of hollering by big Rob about I am not resisting several times. And I know from experience that they were bending him down and rubbing his face into the concrete. Now they are telling T and Soulja that they do not get a shower today. So now Soulja is going to do something else at chow time. Jack the slot or something.
I'll let you know.

6:20 pm ? T and Soulja jacked their trays. Griggs came and gave them their showers. A small battle won.

April 25
9:45 am ? They came to get T for court. About ½ hour later here he comes with the team on a gurney, face down.

Okay now it's said they take Polaroid pictures after every use of force. I have seen this several times. They put him back in his cell, stood about 10 ft. away with the camera and took pictures of his door. I've seen them do this several times. Idiots! So even if he did have injuries, these photos wouldn't show them. Another devious way to avoid detection.

Something I forgot to mention yesterday when they were putting T in his cell, Cooley tried to get close with the camera, but Lt. Shitty put his hand on her arm like stay right there. I guess he wanted to make sure nothing was caught on camera, if they decided to bust him up. If you could actually see some of the inner workings of TDCJ you would have to shake your head in disbelief. Sometimes they are hilarious, sometimes sad, but always senseless and inefficient.

2:20 pm ? Should have seen this coming. They are moving T to E Section, 67 cell and moving Hank to 59 cell. And the guy in 67 ? Guevera ? over here to 74 cell. They're splitting up the crew (frown).

I'm not sure of all the details but apparently from what I gather they set up Hanks hearing this morning so he wouldn't be able to defend himself. He walked in, said something and Boston (Disc. Hearing Officer) shouted "get him out of here". That was on the assault case against Duffs sissy ass (Pansy). T says he isn't moving. I'll let you know what happens.

3:05 pm ? They are not trying to even talk today. Sgt. Dickerson came in the pod for a minute. He had a gas mask and a can of gas in his hand. He left back out and here comes Sgt. Griggs with the team. T said "what's up, yeah I'm moving". So they leave but come back not suited up to get Hank.

Just heard Griggs say he and Sgt. Dickerson and Lt. Bolton are leaving Death Row. Sgt. Duff and Sgt. Seppenon are coming to 2nd shift from 3rd shift (frown), a pansy and an asshole. Some Lt. from population will be taking Boltons place. So second shift is going down the drain all the way as far as rank is concerned. Though we're not sure about the new Lt.

3:30 pm ? They are now back at T's cell. He is slow bucking on them (moving slow) (T's pack up). The 8 guards are all milling about joking and carrying on. One can learn a lot watching and listening to them.

3:54 pm ? T went ahead and moved.

April 26
Recreation day. I got to go outside with Chitown again. While we were outside T jacked the run, laid down and made them suit up to carry him to his cell. Soulja was in the dayroom at the time. So they get T into his cell and start putting up the recreations. They got to Soulja, he refuses to come in, so they put the rest of us up. They suit up the team again. Team is: Officers Smith, Chavis, Triplette, Jackson, Beard, Carlise on camera, Sgt. Poole running the team and my favorite Lt. Larry Shitty Roach.

They give him two orders, gas him first shot six seconds, second shot can ran out after 4 seconds. They waited a minute and ran into the dayroom on him. He said they hit him fairly hard and that Beard tried to break his legs, bending them up and then put the shackles on as tight as possible. He said the gas this last couple times seems more potent. We all can attest to that because they leave the purge fans off until they are all clear. So were all coughing and choking. It's all over the same things its been about. Screwing us over. But I'll be damned if the breakfast wasn't hot this morning (smile). But the main reason for their acts of non violent protests are that everyone has been chilling out and they come shooting at us over petty stuff.

One guy got wrote up at 2:41 am for having paper in his window. He's on Level I. I've written Internal Affairs now, call Inspector Generals Office 3 times now about filing assault charges on Beard. That office refuses to reply. I don't know what to do now.

10:30 am ? Yahooooooo! Just heard Lt. Larry Shitty Roach is also leaving. Good riddance. He scolded the two officers working our pod for putting me and Chi Town outside together. Such an idiot. I have no apology for this asshole because he is DIRECTLY responsible for a lot of the BS.

It seems they are getting rid of most of the trouble rank but they need to transfer Lester. He is the head of this trouble, the main cause of 90 % of the problems with his Napoleonic complex and interpretation of rules and policy. Get rid of him and replace him with a fair major and a lot of BS would stop.

Soulja said he did get punched in the head and ribs and that Beard tried to force his legs to go the opposite way than what their supposed to go. Figure he cant be up front punching on people. So hell bend them up. Asshole!!

5:30 pm ? Ok, Ok, I've been justly chastised by a couple friends so I must now make amends (smile). I've received lots of mail since starting my writings. I try and answer each one personally to show my appreciation. Many come without addresses or names so I'd like to take the time to say thank you so much for all of the support and encouragement for me and the crew to all of you who have written. It means a lot to me because letters and cards are my sunshine in this dreary place, the only weapon to fight the loneliness, so please continue to write and again, Thank you!

It's also been brought to my attention I should tell you about the times when not so much is going on. Okay, I will start doing this also. I guess I do happen to only write when its something major. I'll do better. One more thing. I have never heard anything else about charges being filed on me for shitting down Chance. It may not be anything or they may wait to see how the courts rule on my appeal. If I get a reversal they will probably follow through with it. I'm not sure how that will play out.
Soulja has wrote up his thoughts and views of the last few days. (Will follow in another posting).

April 27
7:10 pm ? Well another day in hell presents tray jacking! At supper time around 5:40 pm Soulja and T both jacked their trays. The same reasons, only now they have added the fan situation. Give us fans and we have no electrical outlets. It's all of the same reasons we have been protesting all along. Me, Rick and Chitown are all biting at the bits because its hard, very hard to let others do what ALL should be doing. Our time will come around again. The main thing is that some thing is being done on all our behalf in all of our names. Nothing has changed. It's still a death row thing.

Both, T and Soulja said that the newer gas burns bad. They are using 10 % now, they had been using 2 %, so its much more potent. Soulja said the team only did what they had to. The team was Officers Figs, Brock, Horton, Fisher, Wilson, Officer Preston on camera, Sgt. Dickerson running the team, Lt. Bolton supervising. Sgt. Dickerson sprayed a total of 7 seconds, no dirty tactics by the team. We have all noticed that the last several run ins, no serious damages has been done. So we are grateful that no one is being hurt. We still don't understand why they force violence when we try to protest passively. That doesn't make a lot of sense. But what can we expect from them? We are supposedly the bad guys yet still to this day, there's been NO serious injury done to any officer as there has been to us. And in every instance it's been them to initiate the violence. We're called the worst of the worst, unrehabilitatable, yet they try and treat us like children. I honestly believe until they treat us all like men and give us something to do one or more of us will be in continual protest in some form or fashion.

April 28
2:30 pm ? It's been one of those BLAH days. All I've done is lay in my bunk as memories filled my head. It's so beautiful outside. The sky is clear blue and I can see it is windy by looking at the grass. So I covered up my window and wallowed in despair most of the day. Thinking about the smallest most seemingly insignificant things I miss. Certain smells and the way things feel, like a slimly worm trying to squirm away as I baited a fishing hook. So many things I always took for granted. The crackling of a campfire, the wet grass early mornings, small kisses on the check by mom, so many things. I've never traveled as an adult, so I often do it mentally with the help of pictures and magazines, detailed descriptions of places. As I laid there today I went to France and Italy with Sabine, looking at photos, it took my mind off memories of the past.

Then shift changed and here comes an officer talking about take that out of your window. Everyone told him to get the hell away from their cells with that petty ass shit. There's no reasoning behind it other than poke at us. Our cell lights are controlled by the picket so they can turn them on and see in here just fine. So my travels were shattered and I figured I'd best get up and rejoin the living. Time to write some letters, I'll write more here later.

The shakedowns continue but not as much. They shook down Soulja and Rick yesterday and a couple others on E section. Today they shook down 3 on E and Birdman over here.

Brian's date is 4 days away. It does not look good. As his date gets nearer our spirits get gloomier. This is really affecting our attitudes also. You can hear it in our voices when talking and tempers are very short. Tina Church of the investigations in Indiana is doing all she can to help. Death Rows Guardian Angel. She is a pit bull when she goes after injustice and it's exactly that which happened to Brian. She has several attorneys fighting for him right now so please keep him in your prayers. He is still Level II. Rotten bastards.

April 29
Well Soulja and T continue their protestations. You should have seen the size of their lunch food loafs. About 4 inches long, about 5 inches wide and 1 inch thick. No bigger than a honey bun pastry. Most definitely not sufficient to fill a mans belly. They went to get T for court (disciplinary), he refused to walk back, so once again they bring him back on the gurney (stretcher with wheels), but while he was gone Soulja went to shower and jacked the run.

Well I guess that just by coincidence their actions were simultaneous because here comes Lt. Price in a hurry with 5 officers. Two orders, Soulja says no, so they pick him up and carry him into his cell. Not to criticize but here is where I would have refused to return the cuffs, Soulja didn't. So they got the cuffs and left. Five minutes later they are wheeling T back. The whole point is to inconvenience as much as possible. In total it took about 20 minutes to handle both their situations, as I said I cannot criticize just pointing that out.

Got to see Brian on a legal visit last night. He was in good spirits and very hopeful about a stay on a Penry II issue which is the jury wasn't advised they could use mitigating evidence to determine if the death penalty should be applied or not. In determining it now 3 questions are asked. #1 Is the defendant a continuing threat to society, #2 Die he intentionally cause the death, #3 Is there mitigating evidence that would call for a life sentence instead of death. Brian's jury only had the first two questions. So hopefully he can get a stay/new sentencing phase on that issue. We sure hope so. It's one of those things the Supreme Court will wait till the very last minute on or not even look at. He is optimistic so we must be also. I'd like to personally say thank you for all the phone calls about his Level II status. These uncaring uncompassionate people don't give a damn though. They told him he will remain Level II for the duration. Major Lester's call and he is a real asshole so what more can we expect. But always remember Karma! What comes around always goes around.

April 30
Another quiet day in hell, but I bet you'll never guess what I saw today. A little gray squirrel. There are no trees for at least a 100 yards off, yet here is this little gray squirrel hunting right outside my window. I only was able to watch him for a few minutes before he moved out of my line of sight but it was a great few minutes. So many times I saw this little guys cousins when I was free and always took them for granted. I wish I could hold him and feel his fur. So soft. Another small thing taken for granted.

The cell next to me has been leaking water for a week. Keeps flooding my cell out. I've reported it over and over and finally one of the pod officers goes to get the key and turns the water off. Now hopefully I wont wake up with 2-3 inches of water in my cell.

A thought to leave all of you with; a wonderful lady recently asked me: "What's essential in your life?"

In struggle and solidarity
