We have not yet recieved official word, but my whateverheis thinks he'll probably be mainlined to High Desert. Anything anyone can tell me about this facility would be greatly appreciated.

My husband was there for reception, in Seg, so my knowledge is limited. They are very fussy about the dress code. No orange, which is different, along with all the usual. The visiting rooms were like sitting in detention..everyone facing forward, no loud voices, no talking among tables. Wierd. Some people have had problems with the staff, but I never did. Everyone I dealt with was at least polite, if not friendly. The weather sucks major, passes closed from snow all winter and 100+ in summer. Hopefully someone will come along with better info....

My son is in high desert right now for reception....he says he hates it and hopes to get shipped back a little closer to home.

My Brother Is In Reception At High Desert. Another Inmate Told Him He Might Spend Half Of His Time In Reception. He Gets Out In January.
