Well it seems that there is an infestation at Avenal State Prison with both ANTS and FLIES.
The 1st tier is nothing but ants everywhere and it has been going on for a while ...
Flies on the otherhand are in the 100's of thousands already.
The chow line is loaded with them, you can hardly even sit down and 'TRY' to eat with so many of them in there. Many of the prisoners are not going to any meals there now due to so many flies. Who knows how long something has been left uncovered and how many thousands of flies and walked all over it and done their business in it as well.
Seems to me that something could be done ...
I know they said they were going to 'spray' for the ants next week but what about all those NASTY FLIES!!!!!!

There are so many dairys and chicken ranches in the area the flies are going to be really hard to contain. I noticed one of the trustees in the visiting room armed with a fly swatter to try to make it more enjoyable to visit.

Last year there during visiting it was horrid, the flies would land on you and bite!!! I can't tell you how many times I was bitten but it isn't pleasant at all. I do realize that with the chicken farms there on the property there should at least be some sort of fly traps, those long glue stick thingy's or something in the visiting rooms. Plus the poor guys when they are trying to sleep, those things buzzing around them and landing on them, crawling on them ewwwwww, no wonder that since it is not only extremely HOT in there the guys can't get any proper sleep and then tempers run high. There has to be some sort of relief for the men seriously.
