View Full Version : Fpc Lompoc Info
bgreeen999 04-06-2003, 11:07 AM Hi-
I have a medical condition that makes me very sensitive to heat. Can anyone tell me if the Lompoc Camp has Air Conditioning?
Also, is it possible to make international calls on the inmate phone system? My wife will be moving back to the Philippines if I am incarcerated and if I can't call her it will be really awful.
Thanks for your help.
No idea for 100% on the phone call thing....maybe Hilde or Phil or Teb will respond soon. I don't think so though...
I do want to say Welcome to PTO!
Deb
bgreeen,
Where is Lompoc Camp? What state? I can see if I can look up the link...
As far as the phone calls? Probably not. Most prison phone systems do not allow dialing overseas. You may be able to get special permission but there is no guarantee. You may have to find a way to forward the calls or have them transfered after dialing a local number. That may not even work.
I have heard of some phone systems allowing this but I don't know which states or facilities and I think that it is the exception...
yes they do. Most all feds have AC and i know lompoc does
harncw 04-06-2003, 01:25 PM Not trying to push their services but Tele-net may be able to help you in your effort to call your wife in the phillipines.
Contact info for Tele-Net is:

bgreeen999 04-06-2003, 01:26 PM The facility is in Lompoc, CA. There is a federal Pen. behind it. I guess it is not considered a "Camp" anymore as it is a "low security" facility now. Here is the address:
FCI LOMPOC
3600 guard road
Lompoc, CA 93436
that is low security. And they do have AC
bgreeen999 04-06-2003, 06:08 PM That's good to hear about the AC!! : )
The phone service looks interesting also, thanks for the tip.
I have another idea for making international calls:
put down the toll free number on a phone card down as my wife's number on the contact list. I could then put in the pin, and her number and should be in business. Does anyone know if this would violate the phone rules or the system would not let me do it?

kintml2u 04-06-2003, 07:18 PM Federal system uses the
CORRECTIONAL BILLING SERVICES
You acn find a site for them online and there is a 1 800 number you could call to ask. They might be able to assist you in the international calls.
Call forwarding is against the rules. But many people get away with it. 3 way calls are also against the rules.
bgreeen999 04-06-2003, 09:49 PM Eazy, do you know if a calling card would work?
B
harncw 04-07-2003, 12:35 PM From what I have read, calling cards, call forwarding and 3 way calling are all off-limits.
The issue is that the BOP wants to control specifically who you can call.
While you may be able to get away with a schenenagan or two... you will possibly get caught at some point... and then they could take away phone privileges, etc. They record all calls.
ladyconvict 04-20-2003, 08:33 PM As a former federal inmate, I can tell you that if they catch you doing any of the suggestions listed here, you will end up in the whole and could lose your phone privileges for a year. The BOP uses ITS which is a debit card system and you can make international calls from it at a fairly reasonable rate as compared to the state facilities. You can't use toll free numbers either.
did i hear Lompac does NOT have Minimal Security Anymore
and ONLY Low SEcurity???
can someone pls confirm the accuracy of this...?
also,, im looking for the best Minimal CAmp in South California....
thanks!
candyheart002 07-23-2003, 01:19 PM i'm curious to learn about the conditions at lompoc. my boyfriend may be sent there or to Nellis in Nevada. bgreeen999 07-28-2003, 04:17 PM You are correct, when I started this thread I thought it was a camp in Lompoc, it is not. It was converted to low and has plenty of razor wire, etc.
I lived right by Lompoc, its not a very happening town. This area is tough to find jobs unless you are in construction or maybe service type jobs. There is alot of farming and wine production in this area. There are very few large companies, and most of those are on the air force base at Vandenberg.
Hope that gives you an idea.
candyheart002 07-28-2003, 10:29 PM yeah... it does! thanks you!
Retired-5 07-28-2003, 10:43 PM they have an ok prison.....
teasgirl 05-18-2004, 11:57 PM I Was Wondering If Anyone Had Any Info On The Transfer Of Lompoc Prisoners To Victorville?. My Boyfriend Is At Lompoc And Although He Knows That This Move Is Going To Happin There Is No Way Of Finding Out When. Also Does Anyone Know Of Any Web-addresses To Eather Of These Places. Thank-you.
