View Full Version : mail time....... (HDSP)
dawnzztoyy01 05-25-2005, 09:57 PM :( My son has been gone about 6 weeks now....3 weeks in tracy and then shipped to HDSP to finish up with his reception. In all the letters he has sent home he says he hasnt received any mail from us.....what takes so long, and when do u think he might start getting something? I keep writing but in every letter he says"Mom, why aren't you writing?" That really breaks my heart....like he thinks i've given up and just don't care any more. DAWN
ekate 05-25-2005, 11:12 PM Just Keep Writting And Call His Counclor To See Why His Mail Is Not Getting To Him And To See If He Will Give Your Son The Message That You Have Been Sending Mail. Some Cc1 Worker Wont But Some Will Most Will Tell Them That You Have Called About Them
denverswife 05-26-2005, 04:55 PM And tell him to get used to it. My husband does the same thing whenever mail gets slow. MY guess is he was about ready to get mail in Tracy when they moved him, so the waiting starts all over. My experience with HDSP reception is about a 2 week lag for mail.
They may send all your letters back from Tracy, although I have seen them forwarded, on occasion. So send a new writing package to HDSP!
Bec Marie 05-26-2005, 06:20 PM We went throught the same thing when my man was frist sent to NKSP reception. It took like 5 or 6 weeks before he started to recieve my mail but when it all finally caught up to him he had a days worth of reading. Just keep writing and he will eventually get them! Hang in there reception is by far the hardest part!!!
And...Welcome to PTO!!!!
kaalilsis 05-26-2005, 06:30 PM Once my brother was at NKSP it took about 3 weeks to start getting mail and we mail something to him each day, then moved him to old folsom and took another 3 weeks to catch up with him.. Keep writing and he will get them all sooner or later

That really sucks....... I miss my son so much and all i want is to hear some replys rather than hear that i must not care....hopefully he'll be getting something soon
KayDean 05-27-2005, 11:28 PM I sent mail to my husband, who is in CTF Soledad, CA, certified and it gets there within five days. Otherwise, it takes around a month for him to get it. Years ago I could send mail just through regular mail and he would get it within five days. One time I dropped it in the mail at the post office where their mail is mailed to and they happened to be picking it up as I was leaving it and he got it that same day!!!

qwerty 05-28-2005, 11:35 PM When I REALLY need to get through fast, I send a plain post-office issued postcard, the kind with the stamp printed on it.
I write a short message, no art, nothing fancy, and he will usually get that MUCH quicker than anything else because they don't have to check for contraband.
