I'm not sure if I'm doing this right or not. But I have found this site a great comfort in the last few weeks. The information is great and a lot of my questions have been answered just by reading the post. I have a niece that is in Alderson, she is going on her third month, Saturday is her birthday and she called today and is a little discouraged, but I have tried to lift her up and let her know that we as her family loves her and will be here for her.
Trust me on this - is you HAVE to do Federal prison time Alderson is THE place to be. If nothing else the views are so good that if things get too hard you can tell her to just look at the beauty outside the fence and ignore the fact that she's "locked up".
After my 18 months in counties and then 18 more months in a FCI I thought I was in paradise when I finally got to Alderson. At least she's not looking at razor wire - an everyday sight at an FCI.

Thanks, that is so true, I have been up to see her weekly and it is a beautiful place, I guess she is sad because her birthday is coming up. I have been pleased with the way she has handled the experience. She has learned alot and hopefully in the next few years will learn alot more.

Hiya! Welcome to PTO. It's a great place.
I, too, have family at Alderson. As you've probably seen for yourself (if you've visited) Alderson is in a beautiful setting. And could be alot worse - I am thankful my sister is there and no where else.
Wishing you and your niece well.
