I know some states contact landlords , before release, to approve the place where the inmate will live. Does the federal system also do this?
Will someone (like a probation officer) come and visit me before he gets to come home? :idea:

While visiting my guy yesterday, I was talking to a lady who said she was visited by a PO before her guy got released (he's back in now). But she said she knows another girl who didn't get a visit at all from a PO before her guy came home??

Typically yes, you will be contacted by the p.o. before release.

Before my husband was released they came and did a walk through of my house - they didn't open cupboards and such they just checked to make sure it was indeed a "home".

If you rent an apartment, do the feds typically contact the leasing office to tell them they have a felon living there?

This is an excellent question, one I too am curious about, my fiancee will be comming back here to our apt when he gets home, he lived here before going in, but wasnt on the lease, the owners we had before he left has sence sold the building to another couple, they are very nice and respect me but I was wanting to know if he can live here since we're not married, and if I need to contact the owners to notify them that he is an ex felan. We have 9 monthes to go before total release, probably 7 or 8 monthes before CCC time. Id love to know if anyone has an answer for us. Thanks,....Staci

ok i guess the probation off. comes over before release, but his release date isnt for another six months and they have already began calling me. i didnt think they would be calling for some time? what info do they ask about you how personal does it get.
