Former court officer gets probation
http://www.kansas.com/images/common/spacer.gifA former Wichita Municipal Court officer was placed on probation for one year this week after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of mistreatment of a confined person.
Prosecutors said the charge was filed in connection with incidents involving consensual sexual contact with a Sedgwick County Jail inmate.
Investigators said the former officer, Danny Saldana, 35, engaged in fondling and other sexual contact with the inmate at least three times from March through July of last year.
The alleged victim said the incidents took place at the jail when he was being escorted to court appearances.
